Hey Everyone!,

My Buddy has this Beautiful Snowbird that I have just fallen in love with! Now, I have a Steelfish which he just loves. Every time we get together we exchange watches to wear. My Steelfish has everything B&P, Pro 1 Rubber(Brand new), the works! Not a mark any where, not even on the clasp(maybe a little OCD about my watch!). Anyway my question is do you think a trade would work. His is not in as good as condition as mine. It has a worn Pro 1 Rubber and a leather Band that has seen better days, but it is just Awesome and a L.E. Snowbird of which there are only 50 made. What would be a fair trade plus cash to offer him? I think he might be interested if I really talked with him about it. I know his is worth more, but how much is the question? Any help? Here are some picture on my wrist!

Am I nuts or is there some hope maybe. I know he just love mine and of course I just think his is so cool, but I am a Bracelet kind of guy and would have to find the Ti Bracelet for it if it worked out.

Don't put too much stock in it being an LE. The fact that it is 'only' a logo that makes it different the value isn't increased, and in fact some sell for less than the normal ones because it is a more limited appeal. I know for a fact that this particular LE didn't exactly fly off the shelves when new. You need to price it as just a 5 or so year old CA that may well be in need of a service. And if you want the titanium bracelet factor that into the price - they are expensive (assuming that Breitling can still get them for you).

Thanks Roff, you just said what I had thought in the back of my mind, but didn't want to say! I know it could use a full service and we know what that will cost. I'm sure I would have to hunt the forums for a Bracelet. I still think it a pretty cool watch even with the down side. It all come down to what you like and just how bad you want it I guess! It would be very hard to let go of my Steelfish as it's is just so cool. I think I'll take your advice and step back a little and look at it as an old CA that needs some time and money invested to make shine again! Thanks again for the good advice Buddy!

Speaking from personal experience, I would keep the Steelfish. I've owned both of these models although my CA was non L/E and with Pro2 bracelet.

The CA is very much tool watch and i found it to be a bit too stealthy, especially the matte black dial. The Steelfish on the other hand, well it is practically everything that represent(ed) Breitling...and is more versatile.

just my 2c

I don't buy used watches, but if I did I would not want someone's used leather strap so I would assume that I pay to get that replaced and add it into the equation (which in this case is just calf, not croc).

As people have said, as the whether the LE is more desirable is based on demand, there are a few patch dials that do fetch more, this CA version although cool was not one of those.
