So I have lusted over a yellow face Seawolf for some time. I just seem to love everything about that watch. I've tried one on a few times and love the bulk and feel of it. I don't think I'd ever have a SA on my medium sized wrist, but the wolf just seems to be the "big" watch for me. I much prefer the look of the new steel ones with Arabics all around except for the 3,6,9 and 12 over the all numbered Ti versions.

I've tried to talk myself out of it as I just don't think it is that practical of a watch. I have also considered cheaper yellow watches to see if it is for me. A few yellow Doxas have that retro vibe which is cool and beads of rice bracelets would be a nice change and can easily be had for $1500-ish. Also considered an all PVD cave dweller from Boschett along with a few others. I'm ever on the hunt for a yellow SO or SOP thinking that would be cheaper, still Breitling and satisfy my yellow itch. Still I always come back to the Seawolf. I think if I "settle" on a different watch I will probably not wear it as much and always wish I plunked down the extra $$$ for the SW.

On the short list of watches for me in the future is a vintage chrono, an Omega moon speedy, a new Transocean chrono and a few others that come and go like perhaps a Bell & Ross BR-03 (no love here I know). The only two nice watches I have are a SteelFish and Planet Ocean. Both three hand watches and with the SW having numbers, not batons it is pretty close in look to my SteelFish. I'd also like a Coral faced SO, but leaning much more toward yellow these days. I know if I get a yellow SW it will be a long time till I get a coral SO. Likewise, if I get any orange faced watch the SW will probably never happen...just not a ton of call for two bold colors in my world.

My head says the wolf should be on hold till I get a chrono at a minimum as I really like chronos and want to add one to my line up. But with summer around the corner my heart screams short sleeves, yellow seawolf and black OR strap!

Thoughts?
So talk me off this ledge.

Nah, wanting a watch is like having an itch..... and the only way to get rid of an itch is to scratch it! Get on the case and buy that bad boy!

I think the name of this site should be changed to BreitlingEnablers. :P

I love my steel yellow Seawolf. The picture is on the metal clasp but I now have it on the black Ocean Racer rubber deployment strap and I love it. This has become my exclusive weekend watch. I say go for it! :)

I found mine used a couple of years ago on eBay.

If you wanted to be talked out of buying a watch, I'm pretty sure you came to the wrong place as most everyone here is highly encouraging of purchasing new toys :) Go for it and enjoy it!!

Wow Rich, you got it bad!

If your wrist can handle the Seawolf, I'd be inclined to talk you into it. I love the Seawolf dial design but it is just too large for me. Maybe sell the Steelfish and replace with SW?

Good luck with decision and don't mind our advice :) .

Starting to talk myself out of this. The old saying if it seems too good to be true it probably is. I'd only be on this if I can find a good deal. This is one watch I don't think I would buy new...though I have priced it. Still want a yellow faced watch and in particular the SW, but thinking for now I should stick with my vintage chrono quest and drop hints to the wife about the SW.

Please read this related post and tell me what you all think. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=39595

Many thanks to the enablers here I think I will still press on with the YellowWolf, just not today.

I won't talk you out of buying a yellow Seawolf, but I would strongly advise against buying that yellow Seawolf. Don't let your lust override your good judgment.

If you want one, it will just keep coming back to you, but you can afford to wait for the right deal. I bet if you decide not to get one now, you'll see a great deal on one tomorrow. 8)

Would definitely try to talk you out of the Bell and Ross! I can't stand their square models - there was a nice one that Roffensian posted a while ago, but for the most part, I dislike that brand.

I like the yellow Seawolf, go for it!

Breitling uses the Seawolf name?? Guess Fossil allowed that after they bought Zodiac... Never will be able to associate Breitling and Seawolf in the same sentance however.

This will not get him off the ledge....

OK, so you want to be talked out of it? Look, the watch sucks, it's not versatile at all, where's your classic casual/dress watch, c'mon get real. Nope, my heart's not in it either.

The only advice I can offer is that if you want that yellow watch, get the Yellow watch that you really want. Don't settle, you won't be happy if you don't get the one you want. I have tried this tactic before and it didn't work, cost me more money in the long run. I get the same way about blue dialed watches from time to time.

(Insert selfish diversion personal request--speaking of blue dials, anybody have or see an Omega Speedy Gemini IV in the metal? I'm still on double secret watch probation, but I neeeeed to know...)

Worship at the Breitling yellow altar. :lingsrock:

I hardly ever wear my other watches after getting my SeaWolf.
Its such a tough wear everywhere watch.
If I knock it or scratch it,a few strokes of the MRS nail buffer pad and she's right again.
The OR just takes it to an even higher level.
