So my SA is away to Breitling to sort out a problem with the bezel and I'm lost without it. It's only been 1 week! (do you think they will give it a polish before return?)

I am contemplating buying something like a pre owned Navitimer to tide me over until mine comes back (from Blowers in the UK)

I will be selling it once I get mine back (you can tell I'm under the thumb!)

Do you reckon I would lose much in the next 6/7 weeks selling it back to Blowers or should I sell it private on eBay or another site like here?

Cheers everyone.

Having bought my Navi from a private seller on eBay UK in the last month, I can tell you that you will pay considerably less buying from there in the first place than from a dealer. One thing for certain, you will not get back what you paid for it if you resell back to Blowers.

There are lots of quality Navi's on eBay at the moment, the trick is finding one you like, even better if its listed with the "Make an Offer" option (how I got mine) You can make three offers under the eBay rules. With a private eBay purchase you are in with at least a chance of recovering your money and maybe even making something on top :)

As always (there is plenty of advice in the forum) buy the seller first, then buy the watch. (And make sure you use the forum to check authenticity as there are a few fakes floating around!)

Good luck with the hunt :bounce:

The only way that you have a chance to hold / make money is buy and sell privately - you'll never come out even or ahead if a dealer is involved because their margin will always be covered first.

And if you're selling back on eBay remember the eBay and Paypal fees that you would incur on the sale.

I have bought without a hitch a few times through ebay, but typically buy there as a last option (not what I want elsewhere) and I have never sold on ebay (spooked by "war stores" told here and elsewhere). I'd try to look on other sites like here, Timezone, Watchuseek etc. A website called Elite Deal Seeker lists "for sale" items from several sites, many of which consist of people who buy and sell there often, and have built a reputation for honesty and fair dealing. You can get references and/or look up their posts. Watchnet has a "good guys" section, devoted to personal references. An added benefit is that from buying and selling there you can build your own reputation, should you get to the point you would like to change up the collection from time to time.

Dealers are trying to make a living, so of course they need to make some money. That said, with the slightly unusual situation you have, I doubt it but maybe one of the folks here "in the business" could work out something with you. It seems a bit improbable to me, but I leave it to them.

Seriously, my advice is take the money you would spend on a Navi, and see a therapist for help with impulse control.

A therapist will take ALL your money and you will have no chance of getting any of it back once you feel better

Seriously, buy the watch! That will still work out cheaper than therapy and you will definately feel better :nana:
