I currently have a Breitling Chrono Evolution with a leather strap on a deployant clasp, and am looking at getting either a new leather strap and/or a pilot bracelet. I have a couple of questions for the experts out there -;

1. I understand that my watch is a 22mm lug size, does this mean that any 22mm strap leather or metal will fit ?
2. Often you see the Breitling straps advertised as 22/20, what does this mean ?
3. If I replace the current strap with a pilot bracelet, I have read somewhere that the spring pins are different for the
leather straps and the bracelets ? If so, where could I get different pins ?
4. Are straps on Breitlings easy enough to change yourself ? Do I need the 'BERGEON 6767-F SPRING BAR FITTING &
REMOVAL TOOL' ?

Thanks.

1. I understand that my watch is a 22mm lug size, does this mean that any 22mm strap leather or metal will fit ? Yes to straps, no to metal bracelets. Pretty much any 22mm leather strap will fit, unless it has shaped ends to fit the contour of a specific case. This is quite rare though : most are straight and will therefore fit. This is certainly not the case when it comes to metal bracelets as 99% of them have end links that are designed to fit a specific case only.
2. Often you see the Breitling straps advertised as 22/20, what does this mean ?In that example, the 22 is the width in mm at the watch-end, and the 20 is the width in mm at the clasp end.
3. If I replace the current strap with a pilot bracelet, I have read somewhere that the spring pins are different for the
leather straps and the bracelets ? If so, where could I get different pins ?Yes the pins for metal bracelets are thinner. Any AD will sort you out with the right pins, or go to Breitling direct.
4. Are straps on Breitlings easy enough to change yourself ? Do I need the 'BERGEON 6767-F SPRING BAR FITTING &
REMOVAL TOOL' ?Yes it's dead easy and yes you ideally need a Bergeon 6767-F. There are videos on Youtube showing how to do it.

Thanks.

1) No, it means that any 22mm strap will fit. For the pilot bracelet you need 357a or 372a

2) 22mm at the lugs, 20mm at the clasp

3) Ask your AD, they should be able to supply

4) You need the 6767F, and yes it's easy - http://www.breitlingsource.com/video_ar ... p%20Change

Edit, Driver8 beat me to it, but posting anyway as I had the end link codes :nana:

Guys, thanks for very knowledgeable replies.

Do you think that this bracelet would fit OK ?

Again, thanks.

it will fit just like a leather strap, as it has straight end links.

pics of watches are quite misleading, imho, as it will not have end links that are fitted to your watch.
