When you put your piece under the light or sun or whatever about how long does your glow in the dark function last for? Mine seems to not last too long as I have seem glow in the dark stuff last longer... |

It should last for at least a few hours. You have to realize though, that if your eyes havent adjusted to the darkness, you will not notice the lume as well. Once your eyes adjust to the darkness, you can see the lume better. |

The size of the lume areas also comes into play. For example, on my Motors, the lume is pretty small, so there isn't much of the material to absorb the light - hence it doesn't last very long. In contrast my Steelfish lasts a hell of a lot longer as the area of lume is much greater and thus can absorb more light. The best lume I have ever seen was on a kinetic Seiko diver's watch I used to have. The lume area was aboutthe same as the Steelfish, but the material they used was called Lumibrite (I think) instead of Superluminova. Lumibrite absolutely kicks Superluminova's ass on brightness and longevity. |

Thats true. I went from a steelfish (great lume), to a skyland (decent lume; small lume spots). |

The lume of the Blackbird lasts all night long. I was surprised and am very happy with it. I also think it was designed with having a strong lume in mind. |

Except (if I remember rightly) it doesn't last as long - i.e. it loses more luminosity year over year than SuperLuminova. |

I have the same, if i compare my super avenger with my seiko you can clearly see that the seiko is brighter and glows mutch longer then the SA seiko is 8 years old and the SA 1 year, and even now after 8 years i can still say the seiko glows a least 50% longer i was a little disapointed that it didnt last as long as my 500 dollar seiko, reading topics here i thought it was just me, everyone sais the glow of breilting is great |

And yet virtually all high end makers use SuperLuminova - the only notable exceptions that I'm aware of are the guys that still go the radioactive route. |

mine doesnt last. when in the sun it absorbs so much i can see it glowing even in broad daylight, but the glow typically does not last through a visit to a movie theater. by the end of the movie i can no longer read the time. sounds like something that might happen to an older watch, but this is a 2007 model so shrug. its somewhat annoying, but i dont lose any sleep over it. |

kingsfall, My watch seems to have the same problem as yours...but I guess its no biggy...just dont go camping at night
