I don't normally tend to post links to other forums, but I saw this on WUS and thought it was cool enough to share - http://forums.watchuseek.com/f15/super- ... 73944.html I think this looks great with the BS dial and a brushed steel finish. Like the job he's done on a genuine Breitling strap too - he apparently cut and removed the white thread and replaced it himself with red. Nicely done I say. ![]() |

That looks very cool. The brushed finish not only looks great in its own right, but it also helps tone down the bling factor a good amount. The modified strap complements it well. I wonder two things, though: (1) Although he says the hydrogen peroxide did not affect the case, I wonder what effect it had on the gaskets. (2) Will Breitling be willing to service this watch, now that it's been modified so substantially? I know the guts have (presumably) not been messed with, but the exterior no longer matches the watch associated with the serial number. |

IWW would've dismantled the watch to strip the case like that, so the gaskets wouldn't have been affected, BUT that means all the internals have been removed, and Breitling would know that if it was ever sent back to them for a service. Whether they would service it is dubious in light of the level of modification, plus the value has no doubt been considerably reduced. That said, I still think it looks pretty darn cool! ![]() |

Anything ive ever seen that theyve worked on looks top notch. I think it looks good as too...like a giant skyland. |

Now that I think about it, that was kind of a silly question I asked - I should have known they would have dismantled the thing first. |

Looks way too good for him to ever get a job with Breitling's design team! I actually think that the strap is the best looking part, but agree that Breitling service won't be big fans. |

Mmm, I'm on the fence, there's no denying that the case looks great with that dial and strap modification overall, but, to do that to a Blacksteel? I think I prefer the original, even if you do walk around wearing it wrapped in virtual cotton wool! Stef |
