My understanding is that a Breitling owner can take there watch (along with the warranty certificate) to any AD to submit a watch for warranty (not just sending it direct or going to the place of purchase).

Is this correct? Is there any additional costs in doing this?

Thanks
Matt

Yes you can take it to any AD and ask them to send it to Breitling for a service on your behalf.

I'm not sure about an additional charge as I only ever send mine direct - I don't trust many AD's to handle my watches as I've seen how they often treat them - however if there is an additional charge it won't be very much. The AD should tell you, so it's probably worth just asking them.

Some ADs will charge for shipping, not really an extra cost as you would pay it yourself if you sent direct.

I believe the ADs get a discount on the service. Therefore they make money on the deal. I don't have a problem with this. It's what Rolex does.

Right, but the end user cost is the same - it's effectively just a kick back from service to the AD if the watch is sent through them (which is why some ADs are preparaed to swallow some / all of the shipping cost).
