Hi all. I've been coveting a Breitling for a while and naturally in the course of all that quickly found this brilliant resource - thanks to all involved. Now that I've identified a particular watch I have a particular query. That is... The guide to inferring date of manufacture from the 4-figure code on the bottom side of the watch case, set out @ http://www.breitlingsource.com/articles_dating.shtml - is clear enough. But how 'old' would people expect a new watch currently for sale in an AD to be? That is, there will always be an interval of at least a few months between date of manufacture and date of sale, but I've been offered some which have turned out to be 4 to 6 years old. Is that par for the course / a basis for a discount / reason to run away?! Many thanks for any advice. |

Entirely possible if it's not a great seller or an unpopular dial colour. Can be an opportunity to negotiate a bigger discount and get a 'free' service before the warranty ends. |

Many thanks Roffensian. (I'd be interested to hear owner's experiences re the time gap between date of manufacture and date of purchase on their lings. Be interesting to get a sense of what's short, what's long, and what's average.) |

Came to this thread to find girls who are also into Lings, but alas I was fooled. Good luck with the purchase |
