I note that Breitling has revised the calibre 19 and has put it in the navitimer, as well as the transocean. I thought it is trying to put its in house movements in their new watches, due to Swatch not supplying ETA after this year. Anybody got any more thoughts on this issue? I must say I prefer the 19 in Montbrillant Olympus, rather than in the navitimer 1461. How can they justify the price on the 1461, since they are using an old movement!

Swatch are reducing supplies, it's not simply being cut off.

The 2892-A2 base of the 19 is much more modern than some of the other movements that Breitling uses and I don't really see an issue with it. If you want an in house semi-perpetual you'll pay a heck of a lot more.

because an inhouse alternative would probably have to sell around the 50k mark for Breitling - at similar sales quantities - to recoup the investment in developing such a movement, not too realistic.

Thanks, I think the calibre 19 is a great movement and agree that it will cost a whole lot more if inhouse. However I don't think it was a great seller on the old navitimer, montbrilliant and breitling for bentley. I might be wrong! Just surprised it was brought back and at 25% more than when it was on the montbrillant.
