Followup to my intro - http://www.breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=2596 Well, the commitment was made this past weekend. Based on the wealth of information within this Web site and the generous tips and pointers from forum members (too many to name but a special thanks to Rick S for his recommendations on an AD), I’ll soon be the very proud owner of a 2008 Chrono Evo, Two-Tone with Blue dial and Gold sub dials. It first caught my eye in the 2008 catalog, but many others from the Super Avengers, Blackbirds and a B2 from 2006 also received my attentive review. In the end I grabbed my wife and son, drove to the AD’s establishment to help make my birthday gift choice and the Chrono won out. Of course my son now has the itch but also noted he recognizes a quality instrument such as this is really a reward for hard work. An undocumented side benefit of Breitling is also the life lessons it can also foster between a father and son. As the commercial might say, “gas to drive to your local AD - $3.25, a gift of a new Breitling for yourself - ~$6,000, having your son learn the meaning of work and reward in life – Priceless…..” I mentioned above that I’ll soon be the proud owner due to one detail I neglected to note in my research. That detail being apparently we just began on July 1st the two week Breitling ‘Vacation” or ‘Holiday’ period. I’m told the actual order (since the AD did not have it in stock) would not be transmitted/received till July 14th and either shipped within days from the Breitling Connecticut USA location or direct from the factory. Alas like an impatient soon to be wed groom, I’m now waiting as patiently as I can but the excitement is almost too hard to handle. Again thanks to all the contributors to this forum and its moderator whom without their entries, this search would not have been as fruitful or as much fun, and I mean I had fun researching this purchase. |

Wow, almost 3 months of research before buying. That is some serious self control. From the time I first contemplated buying a B, to the actual purchase, was probably about a week. It was too hard to wait. |
