Post subject:  Couple of questions regarding a watch service
I know it's recommended that you service a Breitling every 3-5 years.
My Super Avenger is almost 4 years old but still running between -4/+4 or -5/+5 secs per day.

Is it only really necessary to service the watch when it runs out of COSC, or will the watch need new parts/lubrication?

Also, I recently polished the bezel to a mirror finish;

When I send my watch to Breitling, will they re-brush the bezel for me?
If this is the case, I'd prefer to send it without the bezel as I don't really fancy having to spend a couple of hours having to cape cod the bezel again after a service,

I believe you can put a note on the documentation when sending it in. Or, if you're going through an AD, have them note the documentation. I'm sure Breitling won't care, so long as you say, "hey I just put three hours into polishing that bezel...mind not brushing it?"

Breitling used to be really anal about this, but these days as long as you note that you don't want the bezel brushed then as BreitLight says you will be fine.

In terms of service, 5 - 7 years is a good rule of thumb (from manufacutre, not sale) so if you are under 7 years old and still running within COSC with a power reserve around 42 hours then you are fine. As soon as it can't maintain accuracy and / or the power reserve drops then it's time for a service an I wouldn't let it go beyond 7 years because then the oils will have completely broken down.
