Post subject: | Need input on Breitling's "silver" dials... |
I'm looking for feedback on some silver dials. I'm trying to compare the colour of the dials. My Chronomat Evo in Sierra silver was a cool grey/silver colour. While my Colt Auto II in silver is more of a warm creamy silver. The Montbrilliant 01 LE is called Mercury Silver, and I am trying to compare how they line up. Here is a pic albeit kind of bad attempting to show the difference. The difference is more or less obvious depending on the lighting. Here is a couple pics I stole from the web... ![]() Now look @ the dial in this shot that I stole from the same place... ![]() To me, in one shot it is totally grey and cool. In the other it looks notably warmer. Now compare that to a shot George @ Govberg sent me today... ![]() I can't tell what bloody colour this is. The pic from George is great. I love the colour and the croco is brilliant. I would likely go bracelet as well. But the web pic with the WTF bracelet is not at all what I want. Is this the kind of colour that looks completely different depending on what lighting it is under? Thanks for your help everyone ![]() |

Can't comment on the shade of the dial, but that pic George sent does look great. I really like it on the croc strap. |

George's pic even shows the croco to have a matt finish I have not seen the likes of from Breitling. It looks great in my head. I'm starting to think silver is only a colour to buy in person. |

Gotta love the pic, given that it has the correct date on it. |

Justin - here are pics of my Sierra silver B01. Yes, you are correct. The color is completely different depending on what lighting it is under. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I think the photo of the Montbrillant showing a creamier color could be due largely to reflection from the surface it's sitting on (notice that the dial is angled toward that surface). But the bottom line is that you can't trust colors on the web -- there are just too many variables. |

I can attest that the Chronomat B01 (orr 44 as it's now called, which I think is stupid) in Sierra Silver does look different based on the lighting. It's really almost a pearl white color, but definitely not MOP. For comparison, the square in the center of the dial is truly silver by my eyes. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I wish I could get away with a silver dial, as I think they are gorgeous. But my old eyes have trouble reading them. ![]() |

I actually tried on that watch at Govberg the other day, it's a really beautiful watch. I would say it really leans more towards the creamy silver that you described rather than the metallic or grey. I wish I would have taken some pics when I was there now that I know you are looking at that specific watch..... |
