I have located a new Breitling Airwolf Naval Aviation limited edition. This is the only one I have ever seen. When it was released, it had an MSRP of $4500, and that is what the dealer wants, and will not budge on price. This was a limited edition with 500 pieces produced.

Is it reasonable to pay MSRP for an out of production limited edition like this?

:lingsrock: I do believe that the dealer has the right to ask for the MSRP...And you to decline... :lingsrock:

No.

An older LE that hasn't sold yet - what does that tell you?

If anything it should have a bigger discount because it is clearly of limited appeal.

Ok. I offered $4,000 which was more than I thought I should and was turned down with no counter offer.

An Airwolf LE for military was $3050 MSRP (in 2010/11). That's how much mine was with BUSA.

Yes, but yours was from the military sales program where your sqdn had to buy like 25 of them? I was trying to get my sqdn to do it, but there were too many cheap bastards..

Back to the subject, I would walk away from that AD. If you really want one, shoot me a pm because I think I've seen one at my AD, and they will give you a discount.

FWIW, I have #488. :D

The military shop, AAFES, has it for $3819. So $4k seems reasonable.

JMO 4k for a digital quartz watch is expensive. i know this is the going price but you can get some nice mechanical watches at this price.

But SQ is great for accuracy...if you're going to pay these prices, might as well have a piece which will keep accurate time. Nothing beats the thermocompensted SQ for accuracy.
