Great review. The red date wheel kills the whole design, otherwise it's outstanding. You should do a pictorial review of your JLC Phase De Lune!

I always enjoy your reviews, Ricardo. But to call this watch "the best version of the already superb Blackbird" is something I could never come close to accepting. It isn't just the red date window - the red sub surrounds..... :nono:

Heck I own the BSBB, but even I would not honestly suggest it beats the real BB.

To each his own. But for me, i just don't see it.

As Sharkman said, I think the OP's reviews are always great. But the SS brushed BB will always be the best IMHO. The BS version is growing on me. :)

AD's have to say these things, it's in their training manual. :huh

the review is great, the watch not so great, not a fan of the red strike, for me its the BB that should never been made, seen it close, even worse than in pics, the red effect is a mess

Great review and awesome pics! I haven't seen one in the metal but from the pics I like this model. But then again I'm a sucker for red accents, especially on this piece. :)

Great review as always Rick but for me, the (Breitling as opposed to Kelly Johnson's) Blackbird will always be the A13050 version of the Chronomat.

Guess I'm just old!

Surely the new Chronomat Blackbird LE trumps the Red Strike for this honor, no?

To echo the others - great review (as always, Ricardo), but there's way too much red on the watch for my liking.

I guess I'm not quite as old as Sharkman ( :poke: ) as for me the definitive BB isn't the A13050 (although I admit it was the first) : for me the definitive BB is the A44359. No fancy text colours or dial colour options - just brushed steel, black dial and white markers. Hard to beat IMO, although as I've said before, even that BB always looks better in pictures than in real life IMO.....

Anyway, great review!

Thank You all for your kind words about the review.

I'm not surprised the Blackbird Red Strike divides opinions here. Personally I'm a sucker for black dialled watches with red details. The original was, and always will be a superb design. The red will either detract or add to this design dpending on the individual.

I'm pleased we all agree that the Blackbird is, fundamentally, a great watch.

Thanks Sergio.

I'll see what I can do in the future with regards to an Atmos review. It's nice to know you guys are also interested in such horological masterpieces.

I appreciate and respect your opinion Mr Shark.

As you graciously hinted, it is a purely subjective opinion of mine.

What cannot be denied is the Blackbird is a superb watch, whichever you decide upon.
