Post subject:  Emergency vs. Aerospace

Having had my Emergency for months now and my Aerospace for just over 24 hours, here are some brief comparisons and photos:

Aerospace:

-Case is very thin and light weight. Almost like you're not wearing a watch at all. Should fit in almost any shirt cuff, but the rider tab bezel can catch the sleeve;

-Has backlight display but the digital display is not as legible as the Emergency's;

-Rotating diver bezel. Between the bezel, the chronograph, and the countdown timer, three events can be timed concurrently. Four if you include the alarm;

-The crown guard and smaller crown can make it more difficult to switch between functions;

-More ornate dial design. Polished finish is used for the oversized numerals and hands;

-Lume is not as strong as the Emergency's;

-The dark and rough titanium case, rider tab bezel, and screws along the sides of the bezel make for a tough and rugged shell. This contrasts sharply with sparkly clean pearl white dial and shiny chrome dial accents. Rough and dirty on the outside, but pure, adorned, and uncorrupted under the crystal. Very interesting and unique styling contrasts;

Emergency:

-This is a large chunk of titanium and steel. Can be difficult to fit inside some shirt cuffs;

-Has a more legible digital display, but lacks the Aerospace's backlight function;

-Has an emergency transmitter. Looks cool and can save your life. But if you're not an adventurer- you don't fly, boat, or hike in remote areas, the transmitter can seem more a novelty;

-Practically useless, but cool looking, compass bezel;

-The large crown and unobtrusive guard makes switching between functions a cinch;

-Bare bones dial design. White is used for indicies and numerals;

-Lume is superior to that of the Aerospace;

-Industrial design throughout. Dial. Bezel. Case. Transmitter. The watch is designed as a pure tool. Little to no unnecessary ornamentation;

Great comparison article and very nice pictures! :thumbsup:

(I'm just not 100% convinced by the choice of strap on the Aerospace! :wink: )

Nice comparison write up. I knew you'd be at home with these guys.

A little off topic, I think a get-together is in order soon for the SD guys. :D
