Post subject:  Group Buy Feeler

Just as the title states I'd like to see if there are any interest to a "Group Buy" to a local AD (either San Diego or L.A. or somewhere in between).

I know that there are few of us in the So Cal area so why not get together and gang up on a local AD and say "WE ARE READY TO PURCHASE X AMOUNT OF WATCHES, WHAT KIND OF PRICING/DISCOUNT ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE US?"

I will be ready to put an order in for a Super Avenger by the end of the month and possibly a friend of mine will be more than happy to jump in depending on the pricing. Give me your thoughts on this ladies & gents.

I'm not a So Cal boy but AZ is in your back yard. I would like to add the Super Avenger to the collection. I have another dealer looking for the specific one I want right now, but would be interested in what kind of group pricing they could do? Strength in numbers. Maybe if there are enough people interested we would have enough people to pull off a jewelry heist. I'll be the driver. Oh... wait, wrong forum for that, scratch that last part.

Yes, exactly what I was thinking about "strength in numbers". I want to strong arm the AD, sort of speak . But imagine the kind of pricing that we could get. Also I was gonna open up the GB to the CONUS members if not worldwide. Keep the post and ideas coming guys.

I'd also like to add that we should probably keep all the numbers & especially names of ADs through PMs so that they (ADs), this site (+Admin) and all of us stay out of trouble.

I edited the thread title.

I might be interested in a Blackbird - depending on what price you can get of course. Normally I'd be interested in any case but as I just bought an unexpected watch, price will also matter.

Of course, that would mean someone of you would need to ship it to me in Europe but I think that's the least problem...

Well as with most of my purchases I dictate the price I am willing to pay within reason, my AD I go through is very easy to deal with but with several with a few minutes of driving here in SoCal, we have options ;)

Hey, if you get enough people, Breitling may design a limited edition for you!!

Spooky - I had a similar thought yesterday!

Maybe the guys on this side of the pond (UK) could get a similar thing going - avoiding hassle with imports/tax.

Or if it were going to be worthwhile it would be OK to do a transatlantic deal. It's not as if you wear your watches the other way round - you just drive on the wrong side! :D

Yes - good idea El Rey.

Seems like a cool idea. Would it be advisable to locate an AD out of state to help with the tax situation?

We could always ask for OTD prices. Whenever buying big dollar items like TV's, cars, watches etc I barter for an out the door price. Works great!

First of all thanks for the responses and PMs regarding this idea :D .

*The pricing that I will be negotiating for will be an out-the-door pricing, while the discount will be an across the board discount. Meaning we all get the same discount regardless of model unless of course the AD says otherwise.

*I have about 2-3 ADs (SoCal area) that I'm going to shop this GB with and another one at the moment that is out of my state (I'm in San Diego, CA btw). So which ever AD takes on this idea I'm also hoping that there will not be any state tax incurred but buyers will be responsible for shipping and handling if applicable.

*As for those across the pond you guys will be responsible for your own taxes (not quite sure what the appropriate term is).

*I'd also like to set the GB up whereas the AD will be taking your down payments and balance of payment directly. I'd really rather not handle anybody else's money unless you guys are sending donations to me for my "LING FUNDRAISING ACCOUNT"...LOL  .

*And yes, the ulterior motive for this GB is to set up that "Special Edition" down the road. 8) :D

If you guys can think of any thing else to add please post it or send me a PM.

Here's a list of the interested parties so far. Please add and modify any other detail to your order as you wish.

1. El Rey - SA 2x (white face/bracelet/arabic, black face/bracelet/batons)
2. In2Deep - SA?
3. NNikolaus - SA?
4. aleister - Blackbird
5. Manchester24 - ?
6. Andrew692003 - SA (white face/bracelet?)

Any other interested parties please add your name to the list along with the model and accompanying details (i.e. face color, markers, bracelet/strap...etc). Thanks again to everyone.
