It's "Leap Day," so how many of you went scurrying about today looking for the manual....or plan to yet? :poke:

I don't think you'll get anyone who has to "fess up" because if they don't know how to stop their watch for one day then I don't think they know how to use a computer.

I prefer methods that work (and pulling the crown out doesn't unless tomorrow is Wednesday).

I thought I knew how to do it, but pulled the manual out when I advanced the date to the 27th yesterday and found that everything else advanced. The manual wasn't particularly helpful, but a quick adjustment of the month and all was good!

How were you able to just adjust the month so that you could wear it today? Did you adjust it yesterday or today? Please walk me through your process as I am curious how you can easily get it to February 29th. I wasn't dying to wear either of my 1461's today anyway but if there is an easier way than just waiting a day and adjusting the day of the week I'd love to know.

I didn't get it to Feb 29th. I advanced the date on the 27th to the 26th and then adjusted the rest of the calendar to show Monday (the 27th) and February. Then just left it alone and tomorrow it will be correct.

The moonphase is inherently inaccurate because of the difference between the actual lunar cycle (about 29.53 days) and the watch lunar cycle (29.50 days) so it's also an opportunity to adjust the moonphase.

Stick to trying to figure out how a moonphase operates rather than your pathetic attempts to insult people.

Well, Sergio might not be the subtlest and most peaceful of our members here, but see who is calling the kettle black ....

That makes more sense as you previously wrote that you made "a quick adjustment of the month" so I was trying to figure out why you had to touch the month. Agree that your method works if you don't want to stop the watch but for me I'd rather do less work and just stop it for a day. Regardless of how we each decide to operate it, we're all fortune to own such great time pieces.

You mean just stop it and adjust the days. Personally I didn't find the 20 seconds that it took to be excessively onerous, especially as I have until February 29th 2016 to catch up on the lost time.

Fair enough comment WatchFred; however, I think these are completely different situations.

I argued with another member because he was arguing with moderators and senior members that he could make a profitable venture out of buying new, discounted Breitling from AD's and selling them. I questioned much of his analysis and drew his attention to the fact that he was not accounting for the element of risk since he was continually comparing it to the low interest rate of a savings account in a bank.

Yesterday, these multiple jabs at me had no basis: that individual tried to insult me when it was him who had no idea about moonphases and then just made another unprovoked attack on me in this thread. Frankly, I think it's a bit creepy that he is following me around and insulting me but also humorous at his feeble attempts at wit, but also perplexing and troubling that moderators are now starting to allow personal attacks which I had thought this forum did not condone.

Well I guess if we weren't tolerant then this post of yours would be deleted for taking a jab at me!

This forum tries to be one of the most tolerant out there, we have a number of members who would have long ago been banned if this was certain other watch forums. I'm glad that we are that way, it allows for more freedom and while there are some posts in this thread (both aimed at you and by you) that test the boundaries, in my judgment nothing crossed over and there is a very big element of 'you reap what you sow' in your posts. In the short time that you have been here members have come to expect aggressive comments from you and it can't come as too much of a suprise if people respond in kind.

Now, back to Sharkman's question.....
