Probably can't swing this right now given my recent history...but it is the exact configuration of the watch I have wanted for a while. Seller says watch is only 3 months old and worn 4-5 times. The back of it looks like it is full of scratches and the case looks almost corroded. What do the rest of you make of this? Lighting, the camera? Are my eyes bad?

That thing is beaten ,bashed, scratched ,pitted . The crown is even messed up. If its 3 monthes old have him prove it with the paper work . Buy the way if your going to make an offer on it start at $ 1.00 , and no more than $1.50. I think the seller is feeding you BS on this piece.

It could just be the lighting, but it's got quite a few swirls/scratches. The only way the case back gets like that is usually from being set down on a dresser when not worn...over the course of a year(s). The main problem I see would be the back lugs appear to be scratched? Maybe he's owned it 3 months, but the watch is older. Who knows...lighting and cameras can do funny things.

That is what I thought, but 100% feedback and a pretty straight forward description. That is why I wanted to check with others. Seems so far off the mark I figured it must be a photo/lighting issue I had not run across.

Code:
like new in the box .... Bought brand new from major watch dealer in Phoenix less than 3 months ago.  Worn 4 to 5 times.  Perfect in all respects. 100% original watch

If it is not cool to post links to an acution, sorry and please remove...but give the rest of the pix a look if you don't mind. The strap looks like it has had two different holes used a bit...the bezel does not look great either. BUT giving the benifit of the doubt as I know flash photos up close of polished items can make them look rought.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/170785256196?ss ... 1438.l2649

So what is the general thought overall?

For some reason the orange SO with all solid numbers, black in the bezel numbers and arrow pointer second had is my dream orange SO. Not made many years if I am not mistaken. Somebody talk me out of it or I'll be living in the garage.

I looked over the Ebay posting Feed backs good . I would offer below asking and advise him the watch needs a full service from Breitling to buff out all the scratches . Only if this is a must have watch .

I take lots of photographs of my watches (sad or what) and I can't make any of them look as bad as that! I think it is a badly neglected piece and whilst the other photos in the listing suggest the watch may be better than that photo suggests, I would be wondering what sort of treatment that watch has had.

Watch is likely real, box is definitely fake.

It's real. I don't think the case back is a beat as the pics appear. The bonehead used a flash and obviously didn't bother to clean it up. But the chimney (polished ring between bezel and crystal) is clearly shown in one pic and it is pretty well beat up. That is my give-away everytime as to overall condition of a Breitling. NO WAY that watch can be fairly described as LNIB and NO WAY it was only owrn for a month. No.

Based on those pics, fairly described as "good" condition. Certianly not LNIB or mint. Assuming the pics are legit, I wouldn't have too much concern on condition. Flash photography can make a pristene piece of metal look horrible.
