Post subject: | Breitling Navitimer 01 LE still available? |
Hi guys, I sold my first Breitling, a black SOH 46mm on Ocean Racer strap, about a year ago. Since then, I'm watch-less... Luckely I often got the chance to wear my brother-in-law's IWC Portuguese Automatic 7-day power reserve ![]() Now, the next watch I'm going to buy has to be "special", something you want to keep your hole life... Also I'm looking for a watch with: - a in-house movement - a "flagship" model - a display back - date Models that I'm very interested in are the Rolex Submariner 116610LN, the IWC Portuguese Hand Wound IW545408 AND the Breitling Navitimer 01 LE. Again, after studying the 3 models the Rolex and the IWC felt off. I find that the new Rolex Sub has crownguard that are you large, as well as the case (if you compair it to the older Sub's). It also doesn't have a display back. The IWC felt off because it hasn't have a date and I think it looks to big on the wrist. If the IWC was 4 à 5 mm smaller, I would have bought that one... BUT luckely the Breitling Navitimer 01 Limited Edition is perfect. Is has a in-house movement, is THE flagship model of Breitling, the LE also has a display back and it has a date. It's 43mm but on the wrist it looks a lot smaller (not like the IWC). Also, it's pretty special because it's limited. A piece I would want to keep my hole life! PERFECT ![]() BUT now is my question, are their still AD's in the "world" that can sell me a NEW Navitimer 01 LE? Here In Belgium, their isn't any ![]() I want one guys, help me out to find me a NEW steel one! Thankssssss |

I think that there are probably still a few around, but probably have to hunt for them. Don't forget that Basel is only a couple of weeks away as well so there may be new models that meet your criteria. |

Yes, with a bit of luck you may be able to find one brand new. They do pop up on the used market, not often but patience is a virtue and it pays back rewards. For obvious reasons it is a fairly new model so it would still be under new watch warranty and you would probably save yourself some cash towards another purchase ![]() Have you considered the Transocean Chrono LE? - a in-house movement - yes, B01 inhouse movement - a "flagship" model - not quite but a very nice classic with quite a history - a display back - YES - date - YES and a Limited Edition. Have you also considered the Chronomat B01 LE? Meets all your criteria, most likely difficult to get one new but I do see them in the used market quite frequently. Wessa |

I have looked at a Transocean chrono LE and Chronomat LE. If I would buy a Chronomat, it has to be on a metal bracelet, and If I ever buy a metal braclet, it has to be from Rolex ![]() As you can hear, i'm very difficult ![]() But thanks for the advice! wessa wrote: Yes, with a bit of luck you may be able to find one brand new.

Yes Roffensian I know, but Breitling used a nicer font on the Navitimer, more classic! The Transocean (and chronomat) have a modern font, witch I less like ![]() ![]() ![]() Roffensian wrote: Pietermann wrote: I have looked at a Transocean chrono LE and Chronomat LE. Agree, Breitling needs to revisit their choice of fonts, not only the engavings but also bezels. "Instruments for professionals, fonts for toys" Wessa |

today, I went to 2 AD's and tried on the Breitling Navitimer 01 (not the limited edition) and a Rolex Submariner 116610LN. God DAMN, this is difficult! At this point, the Submariner is winning because it's a bit smaller (40 mm instead of 43-44mm like the Navitimer). I guess, the perfect combination: a Navitimer and a Submariner! |

If 40mm is more your size, than why not consider the 2011 Montbrillant 01 LE? In house movement, a Navi, display case back, right size.... Still quite a few around at the ADs, I have seen one at my local just the other day. It has been there for several weeks. http://www.breitling.com/en/models/mont ... /index.php |
