Post subject:  Experience with AD Tourneau?

Hello

Two questions:

1. Has anyone had any experience with the AD Tourneau? They are a fairly large company with stores all over the world. I am working with the Tourneau store in Atlanta to locate a watch....

2. Tourneau offers a free 3-year warranty and free battery replacement for the life of the watch. People on this forum have said you may have to change the battery every 1-4 years, based on use. What does a typical battery replacement cost? If someone other than Breitling changes the battery, does that void the original warranty?

Thanks for the help!

I purchased a Breitling Navitimer from Tourneau a while back. They were pretty good to me.

Most dealers I have dealt with will install a new battery if you buy straight out of the display case, or if you request them to change the battery immediately after purchasing the watch. It costs me about $40 to do a battery replacement at an AD. Most AD's use Swiss Renata Batteries I think... if they use a cheap battery that explodes and leaks all over the inside of your watch u might have a problem if it's within the warranty time..

I have used Tourneau to buy Breitlings. They give an extra year warranty to the watches.

A Breitling I wanted was not at the local store, but was in their system in Hawaii.. I had it in 2 days.

I have not bought a watch from them but my friend has. The service seems to be ok. They do give a SMALL discount but I have got better from elsewhere.

Regarding the watch change if you buy an automatic you wont have to deal with that problem :)

I was told by a tourneau rep that if you just tell the watch repair person that your battery died but did not in fact buy it there but SAY that you did they will still just change the battery anyways. This does in fact work. Hope this helps.
