Has anyone seen one in person and tried it on? Trying to get a feel for how large the 44 wears. Would be especially great to know how it wears compared to a steelfish. I know it is thinner than the SF.

Haven't seen one yet, AD says February delivery (?). I'm guessing it will wear a little smaller
than the SF due to it's lesser thickness and weight. May look at the Colt 33 for my wife.

Not seen yet one in metal but doubt that seeing it in person would change the (very) negative opinion I have of it. IMO of course.

I seem to be in the minority here, but have seen a couple of other post about the newer offerings not being hated. I am warming up to the new bezel style(s) quite a bit. I think I still like the various raised rider tab bezels better, but I don't dislike the new ones anymore. The Galatic 41 looks way better in person and I totally dig the look of the SOC II in just about any trim color

At first I thought the new Colt look a bit Tag like, but they too have grown on me. Saw a post a while back of a Colt 33 that a member got for his wife. That looked great on wrist in white.

I have learned that you can't get the Colt 33 on an OR/Deployant strap/clasp, so I think that would be out for my wife...thus my wondering if the 44 would be too big for a womans watch. I am a little hung up on the new Colts not being automatic, but trying to convince myself that it is not that huge of a deal.

I don't hate it, just isn't my cup of tea.

I'm going to ask for an umbrella of mercy here (before the abuse rains down) and say i just looked at the new Colt on the website, on the DP2 and I hate it less than i did on the bracelet. I'm still not keen on the dial font. But i don't mind the bezel. I'm not about to choose one over a SOSF anytime this century.

The Colt 33 I picked up for my wife for Christmas looks better and better each time I see it on her watch stand.

I ordered it in October and the Breitling rep promised my AD and I it would be in for Christmas. Five days before Christmas it still wasn't here and somehow the rep and the AD got together and had one sent in for us in the nick of time. ...not sure how they were able to get it done and my wife was pretty excited on Christmas morning.

Kodiak is right that they're supposed to start arriving here in the US in February. They are certainly worth a look!

I liked it a lot, but still didn't have the chance too look it in person.
I like the fact that it will keep the time for 8 years without my intervention, and it seems to be able to take some abuse.
And the bracelet seems to be new too, it really matches the watch!

I tried one on this past weekend. It's not as thick as say, a SuperOcean 42. It doesn't wear very big, mainly because it's so light. I prefer a watch from 40-44 Max, and I thought the new Colt wore quite well. I hated it when they first released it, but after seeing posts and trying one on, I'm eating my words. It's a good looking watch. I own a steelfish, and if you are worried about it possibly being too big, don't be. It wears smaller because to me, the case seems smaller than the fish, and way lighter.

I finally saw them in metal, and tried the black and the blue one, both on the new bracelet.
I must say, I'm going to get either one ASAP, just have to decide which color now!
I liked the dial with those polished arabic indexes, the brushed/polished case and the new bracelet, but not too fan of the crown...
For me it sounded as a perfect daily use work horse. Reliable and sturdy!

My AD in Pensacola, FL has a bunch of the Colt 44's in stock. I think I saw blue, silver, and black in their case. Good Luck with your search. I kinda like the new Colts!

In the few threads on this watch here at BS it is pretty lopsided to the hate it crowd, over the few "like it or can live with it" minority.

I strapped one on yesterday and promptly laid down my cash for it. Obviously watches are pretty much, if not totally, opinion based but I'd suggest you at least give it a look in person before hating it...not liking it I could see, but it is surely not terrible. I get the whole departure from typical Breitling look, but I'd guess if this came up from a different company most would simply pass on it not dispise it.

For starters the lines on the face in upper right and lower left are very subtle, noting like the web site. It has the nice heft of a Breitling tool watch, but not over the top. Nice solid build quality. I totally get it if the quartz thing is not for you, but I think it will fit the bill perfectly as my wife's knock around watch. The bezel has a smaller, tighter feel to the clicks. I did not count the number of clicks to make it round the dial, but I'd go so far as to say I like the feel of the Colt 44's when turning it over my SteelFish. I did not like the bracelet as much as my pro 2. The build/feel and the clasp was the same, just did not like the looks as much. No matter for me as it is going on blue rubber.

It is a bit much at MSRP, but I doubt any of us here are paying list for any Breitling they buy. If you needed a brand spanking new watch under warranty with familiar Breitling feel and a new/different look for ~2,500 or less I'd say you could do a lot worse. BTW, the white is very nice looking too. The black did nothing for me.

Flame away if you must. It's my money and I am happy with my decision. 6 months from now I hope I feel the same. AD says is my wife does not love it I can return it...that is pretty nice over just an exchange. I'ts coming from me how could she not love it.

Congrats, can we see some real life pics when you get the chance? Be interested to see the blue. Probably won't see one at an AD around here for another month or so.
Thanks.
