Simple question, would you trade a normal black brushed on bracelet blackbird for a limited edition blackbird on rubber and DLC deployment, money is not important, just in terms of design and bling

yes or no and why please

i am so tempted but dont know.... of course its a LE.. its less bling as the normal, more sporty and young, its so hard to decide, i still love the normal just wore it less because of the too much bling errrrr

the only Blacksteel i really like is the BB

give me a help here

i also have the have both option, but its a lot harder

hate having this blackbird thing

last year i sold the SA and bought a CA Ti, i believe i am going the same way here, to less bling

Update:Arrived BB BS pics pag. 3 please comment

It's a no from me. I don't like surface coatings, and the standard BB's faceted bracelet is too nice to pass up.

Unless like me every pilot bracelet on every Breitling I've owned is just between links. Take it out and I am on the longest clasp hole and it is a little too tight. Put it in and I am on the shortest clasp holes and it is way to loose. Really p##### me off. But that is why I am trying older/smaller Windriders. Even if a bit too loose they dont flop around on my wrist like the 43-44mm and look ridiculous. "And a man in my position can't afford to look ridiculous!"

I voted YES due to:
1) like the sporty/stealth black look with the red accents
2) don't like bracelets (bling factor)
3) rubber will wear lighter weight

Good luck with decision!

I have a Brushed BB. While I do agree it is blingy with the pilot bracelet, it really isn't with the Ocean Racer and it is actually more comfortable on it. I also think it wears well on leather or croc, both deployant and tang. For me, I prefer the Brushed over the Black Steel; although I have considered trading / selling it. But like all of my other watches, just before I make the final decision, it becomes my favorite watch again.

the problem of other straps on the bird on my eyes, make the watch seem cheaper than really is, the bracelet makes a watch seem more watch, in case of my CA i use the Pro 2 Ti, very nice bracelet and very discrete, put aside the bling factor which is perfect.

Wow, I'm shocked the vote is as close as it is. The brushed Blackbird is practically a religious icon among the members here. I remember some very heated discusions on a thread discussing brushed versus polished BB.

For the record (in case someone puts up a youtube vid about me - nah, that could never happen  ), I admire the brushed BB as much, maybe more, than ANY Breitling. The bracelet seals it. Sadly, the pilot bracelet on current sized Windrider Chronos isn't a proper fit for me. If it were, it would be a "one watch" candidate for me.

Now I can't imagine ever thinking the BSBB would be a "one watch" possibility. But it makes for a great occasional change of pace watch. I admired it in the AD's new stock case many times. But I NEVER would have bought it at normal retail discounts - it is priced over $8K, I believe. As a barely, if ever, worn pre-owned from an AD and under BUSA warranty for less than 50% of retail, took maybe 3 seconds to say, "YES please."

I say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!

Yes I remember the heated discussions & may have participated in them in the past & still say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

lol

Not wanting to rehash - I will only say it's suppose to be Brushed Period.................Or It's Not A Blackbird!!!

By the way for the record, I do not own one, never have owned one, & most likely will never one one - therefore my comments are unbiased.

Cheers, 8)

I have seen Shark's watch and its the nicest coated watch I have seen. I also thing the color shrinks the watch a little, which I like. But I think its also a fourth or fifth watch in the collection. The brushed bird is a great part of any size collection.

Easy for me - absolutely not. I think the Blacksteel BB is ugly, and rubber straps look cheap to me. I don't care if it is an LE. The standard brushed/black/faceted-Pilot BB is a classic. If it weren't for the fact that the Evo design is a bit too big and clunky for my wrist, the BB would be a "one watch" candidate for sure.
