Just a quick one guys, the Airwolf has landed safely I am so thrilled to have it back again from BUK . The skeleton hands are now gone and so I hope to be able to read the time in the dark now . It is now 5 years old now and I was surprised that BUK have only carried out a Quartz Maintenance Service (basic service to most of us) which is the batt and seals replaced, case and strap cleaned and of course the hands replaced as I asked. Now everyone here says that it should be overhauled at 5 - 7 years? I must look after mine pretty well as if it required an overhaul one would think that BUK would have told me that it required it?It's really confusing as when I sent my SQ B1 off to get it's battery replaced I was faced with the bill for an overhaul at a cost of 285 pounds back in 2007 - that watch was only around 2-3 years old. This one is around 5 years old and only needed a basic at 170 pounds(including the hands replacement as they are only free if it's a full overhaul service I think). Hmmmm

Cheers F14_Tomcat, I just noticed the tiny scratches on the bezel - I can't see them with the naked eye but the camera has picked them up, I will point out that the Quartz Service (Basic) involves a clean and not polish like in the Overhaul Service. Just in case anyone was wondering .

Beautiful piece....I love the sunburst dial on those models, much better than the current pinstripes IMHO. |

Glad he got back safely 3 of mine have gone to have an insurance assessment at my local AD - Fraser Hart, including my Wolf (New household insurance requested it!) Gone for up to 3 weeks I've taken to wearing my first ever Breitling bought I think around 1996/7, a Mk1 Titanium Aerospace. Keeps perfect time (pre super quartz model) Compared to what I usually wear, it has zero wrist presence!

I got my first Breitling on Saturday, a pinstripe Airwolf. I keep thinking "I should call my insurance company about it." But it's so new to me, I don't think I could do without it for any time right now. |

Hey Cheers Guys, appreciated ,@Shadow-Navigator - thanks mate, I also prefer the sunburst as I feel it has more 'presence' and the only problem I had with it was the skeleton hands which are now gone @jkwelsh - thanks my friend, it seemed to be gone for a few thousand years. I know how you feel @Fvolfrine - thanks. You don't necessarily need to send your watch away mate. I have never needed to send mine away to have it included on my insurance - I just phoned them up and told them what the watch was and how much I paid for it. I have photos of my watch and all of the necessary paperwork to prove I own it (God forbid anything should happen to it). Give your insurance company a call and just ask them what you need to do.

Looks great! You'll find the solid minute hand so much more practical and legible. Love the Wolf!! |
