Folks,

I would like to know which one of this Breitling watch is your preference over other one, I'm planning; though not decided to pickup one or may be drop my plan as well. But interested to listen to the experts here to know more about these models. so let your passion talk why do you need one of this model (both are chronograph) ;-)

Windrider A13358 vs Super Avenger A13370

wow these are two totally different categories. one is a much smaller piece that could even be worn by a lady and the other is the size of a hockey puck.

i guess it really depends on what you are looking for.

As stated, those two are like comparing apples with gorillas! There's almost a 1cm difference in diameter and almost 0.5cm difference in height. Basically one is pretty much the smallest gents watch Breitling make, and the other is pretty much the largest (all round dimensions).

In a case like this, there's no substitute for trying them both on and seeing which you like more.

Thanks for the replies, again if you could explain which one is the largest one and which is the smaller one will help me evaluating it.

I'm trying to compare two models of Breitling and as you all mentioned one of the difference is size, apart from size there could be other areas to look at such as higher end and lower end, mechanism, buttons, bracelet and personal likes of smaller and bigger dials.

So, I'm still seeing a reason to compare both of these watches .. please through light on this puzzle

The Super Avenger is the larger of the two. 48.4mm across vs 39mm. The SA is also much heavier - 153g vs 91g.

Both use the same movement - the B13 which is a modified Valjoux/ETA 7750.

The Chrono Galactic (which is the proper name of the model you called the Windrider. Windrider is the name of the range) is water resistant to 100m ; the SA to 300m.

The Windrider range is considered slightly "higher-end" than the Aeromarine range that the SA is part of.

The links of Pilot bracelet on the Chrono Galactic are made of 5 bars ; the SA's Professional bracelet just 3. The Pilot bracelet is nicer looking IMO, in keeping with the higher-end ethos, but both are great. Worth noting the Pilot on the CG is only 20mm wide at the head, whereas the SA's bracelet is 24mm wide.

The SA is more "tool" in appearance ; the CG more "dressy".

As I said above, the biggest difference between them really is the size.... and there is no substitute for trying them both on. Under no circumstances should you buy either of these sight-unseen if you've never tried them on. They really are at polar opposite ends of the size spectrum. Anything else boils down to personal preference on aesthetics.

Hello Driver8, Thanks for the wonderful information. Yes, both of them are in craigslist and I will be wearing it to choose the one I may buy.

As some of you have known I'm already owning a aeromarine colt chronograph, with that consideration I think the GC and AM will be in the same league(i.e. bracelet lug width and size), Hence I think the SA may be the choice that may end up in my box. The SA in question got a professional 1 bracelet and I guess it is from the yester years. I'm posting the pictures here that I received via mms from the seller, could you confirm if it is a original looking one.

Absolutely right, however this seller is from my neighborhood and surely I will take the watch with the seller to AD(I have a good relationship as the AD supplied me bracelet, end pins and buckle for my Colt Chrono) and get it authenticated before even counting the coins.

Unfortunately no box/papers but it will be authenticated. The seller quoted $2500 and negotiating, may be around $1800

Also it is strange for a big wings SA to have a pro I bracelet as the big wings was introduced after they scrapped the pro I in favor of the pro II. Not likely he got rid of the pro II for a pro I and without boxes and papers I would pass with enthusiasm on this one!
