This was announced on timezone by Club Breitling - Israel. They're usually pretty reliable.
Limited Edition, all black Chronomat 41 with transparent case. Total of 2,000 pieces and their notes say case in polished with satin bezel.

I hope Breitling has not done a complete 180 and is concentrating on these smaller watches going forward. To go from a 47mm to 44mm Chronomat GMT is one thing but to LE a small 41mm watch makes me wonder what direction they're moving in now. |

Chronomat 41 is an existing model so all they are doing is putting a DB on 2,000 of them. I actually welcome the fact that Breitling seems to have overcome it's phobia of display backs, although it is clearly still addicted to high production run LEs, and the watch itself isn't very different from the standard one. |

It sure seems like a cash cow for some one ,how limited are these watches 2000 pieces ? that's not very limited to me . what's the premium on these compared to the regular Chronomat 41 ? Maybe there appealing to women who like a bigger watch for themselves. But some how I doubt it . |

Nothing wrong with a 41mm LE/display back IMO. I do like the all black dial on this one, but probably will not be interested because of the price (maybe $9,000 - $10,000 list?). |

Not long back, it was looking like Breitling was intent on being a brand suitable primarily for those who want big (44+), chunky watches. The fact that they're making some options for those who either want or require smaller watches is encouraging. This LE is another step in the right direction, although I'm still not huge of the dial design, either the square or the asymmetry at the date wheel. I also agree with you on the price. In that price territory, the competition is pretty stiff, and coughing up only a few more grand brings on even tougher competition. The Chronomat line, as it currently stands, just isn't in that league, imo. Thanks for posting, Justin. The notes say the bezel is brushed, huh? That rendering sure makes it looked polished. |

I would bet it would be priced the same as the Chronomat B01 LE from last year which I believe is up to $9,600 or somewhere in that range. While 2,000 isn't a small number by far, you could look at what Omega does with their bond watches and their 10,000 limited edition run. I also agree with Kodiak, there are plenty of guys out there who would be happy to wear a 41mm version of the Chronomat, I know I wouldn't mind it. The note on TZ says brushed bezel, but you're right, it does look polished. |

I don't think it signifies a darn thing other than Breitling is trying to drum up sales by issuing LEs. The 41 is an existing model and the 44 GMT makes sense for the majority of the consuming public - 44mm is still considered a large watch by most. It wasn't that long ago that Breitling "floated" the idea of a large watch and called it the Hercules. Measuring in at a "whopping" 45mm, it was considered huge. One by one they are putting displays on all in house models as LEs or issuing them in first run LEs. After all, the sales people at the ADs can still throw in, "And it's a Limited Edition!" to seal the deal with average Joe watch buyer. My AD still does that with me and I just shake my head. I like that they have a 41mm chronomat but what I don't like is that they are taking an existing model, slapping on a display back and calling it an LE. I hate that crap! As Tom said, Joe Watch Idiot will walk into an AD and hear its an LE and scoop it up when in fact it's not limited. Make 19 of them then it's limited. I like the watch I just don't like the marketing behind it and that damn font is never going to leave us is it??? |

And it makes me wonder what Breitling will do with display backs in the future. They seem to be just realizing the rewards of what many other brands have long know - people want a display back with a cool in house movement. So are they painting themselves into a corner? I like the display back on the Panerai's as well as the watches that serge posted above... Breitling should do something to step it up though to have a display back. CNC out the weight with the anchor and wings. THAT would be impressive... |

The Toyota Camry from 10yrs ago became the Corolla then is now whatever is below that, like the Maxima body keeps getting bigger and the old one became the Altima then the Sentra. Yes I get that the 47mm Chronomat GMT is too big of a watch for some but with today's trends, within the Breitling line a 44mm is a medium at best, 41mm is small and borders being a woman's watch (depending on the thickness). I don't get how someone can be a huge fan then complain that the line is too big: Breitling is known as being at the bigger end of the spectrum. |

Not for me. 39mm - 41mm is the sweet spot for me, with my 6.5 inch wrist. Trends don't change the size of my wrist. |
