Alright haha.. here goes a question I have. Disclaimer: This is the first watch I've ever owned.. lol so bare with me. When Im setting my watch (evolution)... After it has not been worn for a couple days.. I just want to know the procedure in what I need to do to set it. Do I have to uncrew the top and bottom parts first and then unscrew the middle one, then wind, then set the date/time... or can it be done by just unscrewing the middle one itself and winding the watch/setting it. I was trying to set it today and just usncrewed the middle part and wound it and set the date/time but the seconds/watch was not working still, so I unscrewed the top and bottom parts and then did the same thing and it started working.. Im pretty sure this is how the AD told me to set it (unscrew all knobs) but I couldnt remember. I dont want to mess up the mechanics or anything inside the watch so I just want to make sure im doing everything right. I will post pics of the watch soon, I havent had a hold of a digital camera in the last 2 weeks Ive had the watch sorry guys. **EDIT** I looked through my Breitling manual and saw how to properly adjust the time and date/wind the watch.. there was no mention of unscrewing the top and bottom knobs though so I guess I just need to unscrew the middle one when Im setting it... And dont set it between 8pm-3am.. lol I guess the watch wasnt ticking for whatever reason at first try of setting it.. hmm. Any ideas or thoughts? |

Yeah, don't adjust the date between 8pm and 3am on the watch... but you can adjust the time. If the watch isn't ticking initially, its probably because its not wound up. Give it 30-40 winds on the crown in the position the crown is in when you first unscrew it out. |

Are you sure it's wasn't the chrono hand that wasn't running? That's the long center hand (with the "B" at the end)... That doesn't need to be running for the watch to run. Vanessa |

Cr8ive, The top and bottom pushers are for the chronograph start and stop buttons, respectively. The subdial at 9 o'clock is the main second hand for the watch, also tells you that the watch is running. In order to wind it if its been sitting on your desk for > 44 hours, you just have to unscrew the crown (middle part) until it pops up on its own, and wind it clockwise 40 turns. This will give the watch the power reserve that it needs to run accurately while worn on the wrist. When worn on the wrist everyday, it should keep it almost fully wound. Hope this helps. Thanks for the responses... After reading through the manual, and messing around with the watch some more I finally understand everything I need to about setting the watch /etc.. I appreciate the responses =) |

...because around about 8pm is when the date change process is set in motion, and even though it look like it's finished at midnight, it actually doesn't finish completely until around 3am. Using the quick-set date during this time can mess up that mechanism. |
