Dear all,

My local AD has two Limited Editions in stock and I am desperately trying to decide which one to get.
The choice is:
1. Transocean 01 Limited, steel, black dial, calf black
2. Montbrillant 01 Limited, steel, silver dial, calf brown,

Both are new, come with the lovely exhibition back and are roughly the same price.
Unfortunately Mrs Wessa would :guns: me if I got both of them.
Please give me YOUR thoughts on which YOU would go for and why.
Hope to make a more of an "educated"decision rather than tossing the coin. After all there are some Breitling "gurus" here.

I just tried on that Transocean this week and really fell in love with it. I think it looks timeless on that mesh bracelet. Loved the feel, look, everything. Could not find one thing I did not like. I'd have to see it on black calf, but it has a sort of retro vibe to me, so I'd guess nothing but the mesh would work. Montbrillant is nice to, but not in the same league, IMO.

I would go for the Transocean. It has a classic, timeless look and I've always thought that the Montbrillant dial was a bit too 'busy'

The Montbrillant. I like the TO. Except what my AD told me recently - four sold, three returned with movement problems. Could be just very unlucky I guess.

I really like the Montbrilliant, both in the calf leather and the SS bracelet.

Transocian is nice too, but reminds me too much of a Tag Carerra.

Either choices are great, you cn't go wrong!

Sharman, have little reason to doubt the feedback from your AD.
Is there perhaps something special in the design of the TO that makes it more prone to problems?
After all the Chronomat 01 and the the Navi 01 also use the B01 movement.
Likewise the Montbrillant 01 Limited also uses the B01 movement hence the new movement reliability (if it is to be questioned) will not be the deciding factor in this case.
One way or the other it will be the B01.

Anyway, more feedback please. I need to make my mind up tomorrow, otherwise someone else is going to buy them and that will be the end of this story :superman:

It's like buying a car...you only hear about the ones that have the problems. Not the thousands/millions that are working fine.

TO LE, black/silver or silver/silver on brown or gold croc
the Monty is beautiful, but you already own the Connie Navitimer, so the TO would add variety

I would look for a Navitimer 01 LE ;).
But if you can't find that one (new), I would go for the Montbrillant!

I have no idea Wessa. It's just small sample anecdotal stuff. But they are very frustrated to have lost 3 sales and 3 watches!

If there is a chance of you being allowed to get both and you really like them then just do it, particularly as you say these are both LE's. Just negotiate and see what she wants... I just went through this and it cost me a new Chanel watch as a "wife tax", but to me it was worth it!
