Post subject: | Warranty Question regarding purchase from another owner |
I am considering purchasing a Super Avenger off of a person who purchased the watch from an AD. It has all of the papers and whatnot. I am aware that when you purchase a watch on the grey market, the warranty is usually void and substituted with a short term warranty from the grey market dealer. Does buying from another person create the same effect? The price $3200 seems very good, but I would like to know about the warranty before I pull the trigger. Thanks all! |

I'm not sure if the price is good or not for a used SA, but the warranty will only be valid if there is a dealer stamp on the warranty booklet and dated. It would also help if you can get the original bill of sale. |

It's only 3 months old and has barely been worn. I think $3200 is pretty solid. The owner stated that the warranty doesn't transfer, but I'm not so sure that is correct as you also stated. |

I dont think 3200 is that hot of a deal. I would estimate it at about $2700 if lightly used and purchased no more than a few months ago. |

what is the point of buying new from even grey market if you can get one slightly used, a few months old, and a GRAND cheaper? $2700 sounds way off. |

Nobody pays retail price (well, some people do...). You can get a new one from a generous AD for $3200. MRYANJ wrote: what is the point of buying new from even grey market if you can get one slightly used, a few months old, and a GRAND cheaper? $2700 sounds way off.

Regarding price it's a question of where you live. If in North America, the price RJRJRJ suggested is fair. If you're in Europe, your deal is fair. Sad but true - we Europeans have to pay for the rest... Regarding warranty, my warranty cards doesn't have my name anywhere, so they should be legit for anyone else too. |

Wow $3200.00 for a new Super Avenger. Maybe we need to start posting contact info from generous AD's and their typical discount, then all buy our Lings from them. I just bought an SA and I received a 15% off of the retail of $4550. They were in Vegas(Tourneau), shipped it to me overnight (to Ohio) for free + I didn't have to pay taxes. I thought that was a pretty good deal. |

Probably better to give specifics via PM, as dealers probably dont want that info floating around and getting them in trouble with the big B. DandyDan wrote: Wow $3200.00 for a new Super Avenger.
