Thanks for the advice, guys !!

So after a lot of thinking .. I did go ahead and pulled in a Ploprof ..
And Boy ! It was the RIGHT FIRST OMEGA to have // love it nuts..

I always knew I wanted four icons in my collection .. so that got me thinking which one ??
Again some thinking .. and after going over panerai, omega and GO and a few others for my budget.. I really thought .. given my tastes.. what I needed is a chronograph to complete my collection ..
And Bingo ! The Chronomat B01 LE showed up in the threads yesterday ........ And I got it !!!

Will be here tomorrow [ hoping its in the condition as described..and i should be good to go ]

And so, my collection is complete to me --

Rolex DeepSea Sea-Dweller
Omega Ploprof 1200m
Breitling Chronomat B01 LE
Grand Seiko GMT SBGE001

Thanks much..guys ! and I am pretty happy to keep a key 'Ling' in my collection...

Yes, in a heartbeat. The omega is an icon, I don't think the B01 will age at all well.

Absolutely not, the Ploprof is so bleepin ugly IMO...but since you asked, I wouldn't even consider that trade.

The watches are very different, and ultimately an answer can only be based on personal preference. I wouldn't expect much consensus on the issue. Personally, though, I'd stick with the Chronomat. I don't know what other watches you have, but the Chronomat will be appropriate in many more situations than the PloProf. I also think the Chronomat looks better; I think the LE is among the best looking of all the B01 models. Plust it's a limited edition. Just my .02.

Thank you. And here I thought it was some clever homemade acronym. It didn't occur to me that anyone would actually name a watch "Ploprof".

It's short for 'Plongeur Professionel,' or 'professional diver.' (Although, plongeur also means dishwasher, so make of it what you will.) I think the watch lives up to its name, which is one of the reasons I personally wouldn't choose it, or recommend it for most people. It looks absolutely like a professional dive watch. I think most people would look a little silly with it, under most circumstances. The Chronomat LE is far more versatile.

It always amuses me what a polariser the Ploprof is. Personally I think it's one of the greatest watches ever made. Genuinely.

:) I have always been on the fence about the ploprof ......... so lets see how it goes.
