Post subject:  Value of 1997 Navitimer Montbrillant 318 in 18 K Gold?

Hi to everybody:

I hope it's OK to ask this question.

I bought this watch new in Zuerich/Switzerland in 1997, have original receipt in my name plus yellow box, wooden box, black pouch, ALL paperwork plus 1997 catalog and price list in German

Everything is in good condition, the boxes show minor wear from storage.

The watch is 18 K gold (the whole watch) with leather strap.

The watch was worn a few times, still works excellent, I can only see a minor scratch on the back (maybe original there?), otherwise super pristine, leather band shows a bit of use but not cracked or something.

What do you guys think the value would be?

I am new here but have over 300 ebay feedback in higher value items, 100 %

Thank you everybody.

Chris

Yes, thanks

It doesn't say anything about condition.

What do you think about the original stuff I have and bill of sale in my name.

Does that add value and if so, how much?

Value is what someone will pay for it, and the best guide to that is comparable sales on places like this and ebay, and/or selling prices at those places, chrono24.com, etc.

That's a list of new prices you were directed to; that's why it doesn't address condition.

OK thanks, I know what I paid new for, so I am back to square one

Anybody has an idea?

especially with gold watches I would suggest to be quite careful to look at the chrono24 pricing to establish a realistic resale value, as these are asking prices, not closed deals.

Best platform for this is to look for completed ebay auctions and sold BINs, as these differ quite a lot from the asking prices you see.

During the last two weeks three rather nice 18k Monties sold on ebay, all around €4,000.

+1
to test the waters you could put it on Ebay with a reserve and see where the price goes ?
but €4,000 to €5,000 sounds about right for a Chrono (non QP / non 1461) Breiting

Found 2 of them. Mine is in nicer condition but that gives me a good price idea.

4 to 5 K Euro sounds about the right price.

Thanks guys.
