Hi there, I am in the final stages of picking my first Breitling and, working in aviation, I want a pre-owned Aerospace as I like the slightly smaller size than the current model. However, I am back in Saudi Arabia next month and have the opportunity to purchase the B-1 Typhoon ltd edition.

what do you all think is the best option, and if I go for my original Aerospace choice, where is the best place to go in the UK as I am already wary of a couple of places?

Thanks for any help...

First.
Is it a British Typhoon B-1 LE or an Saudi Typhoon Airwolf LE? The Saudis do not have the Typhoon yet, so any lead turn on LE's would more than likely be Airwolves. Now having asked that, I own both the Airwolf and Aerospace. Overall I find the Airwolf a much better tool watch for work. I do use the circular slide rule a lot, and the way it is mechanized (same for the B-1) it makes it very smooth to use. The extra $500 or $1000 for the LE Airwolf over the Aerospace is well worth it.

Personally I would not buy a LE edition of anything unless I was associated with or flying the platform. My best friend did buy one of our LE CF-18s because he felt a strong tie with the platform through me.

Sorry, I cannot help you with the "where in the UK" part.

Thanks for the response. It's a Saudi Typhoon issue to commemorate RSAF flying Typhoon's so I will need to investigate that further. Thats all i know. I agree with your point on association and on that basis it would be the commemorative Concorde one from a few years ago as I have been involved in engines...

Sounds like its going to be the Aerospace for me.

Not correct. They already have 22 of the T-2 version out of 72 ordered. The rest, of the T-3 version, will be locally produced.

Interesting. The only Typhoon B-1 I've ever seen mentioned is this one commissioned by Andrew Michaels. Would love to see pics of the Saudi one even if you don't buy it.

I used to have a B-1 and it feels big and heavy compared to the Aerospace. I preferred the B-1 but with eyesight getting worse with age, I could no longer read the slide rule so picked up an Aerospace.

I know exactly what you mean Sharkmouth - I find it difficult to see the slide rule on my 'Wolf and I have to put spec's on to read it. I love the watch though, so it and the spec's will be staying :D .
