Post subject:  What does UEL mean?

Hi guys,

Just curious here - as expected, my battery now needs replacing on my Airwolf. The displays now flash and so my beloved 'Wolf will be away for a little while  . What I wanted to know is - the normally blank display now shows 'UEL' flashing, does anybody know what that stands for?

U? End of Life perhaps?

Breitling had a programming error on some production runs of the movement - miscoding. It SHOULD say EOL. In short, it's a misprint.

You're kidding! That just seems bizarre! One letter correct out of three; I'm glad they weren't asking for an RSVP, imagine the stuff up with four letters to play with.

It's hard coded in the digital code in the movement, not 'fixable'.

I quess Breitling's (or ETA's??) thought was the same as mine - what difference does it make?
