I need to replace the crystal on a 3 year old Breitling Aerospace (Using only Breitling's official service center) so I presume Breitling would insist on a service too, does anyone know the total cost?
(Tried calling them but they are not open until 4th Jan and need to know asap in relation to a trade)

I think they charged me £54.00 for the early Aerospace last year.

Thanks but don't they insist on a service as well as the cost of the crystal, I'm surprised it was so cheap knowing Breitling?

There will be a service required as the watch has to be opened up. Not sure on the UK and Breitling seems to have removed the pricing pdf documents from their website, but a quartz service generally runs around $450 or so.

Thanks, I expected the cost to be around that figure, so probably an additional $100 or so for the crystal.

Crystal replacement is not included in the cost of a full service.

BUSA is re-doing my new to me Chrono Shark. They say they have a dial which I wanted in addition to new hands, new crystal, and essentially replacing the entire movement. They gave me a sweetheart deal ... won't say how much, but a new ProII bracelet would cost more!!

The new crystal is $84 US. I'm surprised they have a dial which they have itemized as "White, black subdials, 8/8 nickel + tritium marker." How on earth would they still have dials from a watch that ceased production in 1995?????

They always stock up on discontinued parts and the key in this case is (I suspect) the tritium. When it became evident to Breitling that they were going to have to give in to the US government and cease importing tritium they got as many in as possible before the ban.

So would you think it would be spent tritium on the dial with the typical patina? I'm assuming and hoping for that.

That would be my guess. I don't believe that they have vials of tritium paint available so the dials will be original - lume will suffer, patina will benefit.

Wouldn't it be nice if someone had downloaded them all and stuck them on his own site!

And good to see Sharkman has got himself a Chrono Shark!
