Post subject: | Bracelet adjustment question |
I am the proud owner of a new SA that I purchased mail order from an AD. As the bracelet was way too big for my wrist, I removed two links (one each side) but it was still a little loose. I was concerned removing a third link would be too much so I moved the pins where the bracelet attaches to the clasp inward two positions. Would this be the same as removing a third link? Is this an acceptable method of sizing? If two postions is the same as removing a link I will go ahead and remove a third. |

Hi First - congratulations on the new SA - I have one planned for sometime this year. Second - yeah, that's a good way of getting the size just right but doesn't automatically mean you need another link out. Have a look at the following and it should help you get it just right. http://www.breitlingsource.com/video_ar ... Adjustment http://www.breitlingsource.com/articles_bias.shtml The fine adjustment is best left somewhere on the middle 2 holes so you can tighten it or loosen it a little throughout the day if you want. Enjoy your new piece ![]() |

Glad I'm not the only one who has huge difficulty getting my bracelets EXACTLY right! ![]() Have you tried getting a Seamaster to fit exactly? As they don't have any fine adjustment (only a half link) it's almost impossible to get spot on. My Seamaster (that's going as soon as my Steelfish turns up) has always been just too loose or just too tight! ![]() ![]() |

I like my bracelets a little loose. Just enough that I can put my little finger between the clasp and the bottom of my wrist. The watch may move a bit initially, but as the day goes on, I don't have any bother with the bracelet getting tight and uncomfortable. |

I agree that I like 'em to be a little loose but my watches always move round my wrist from the top to about 1/4 to 1/2 inch too far round, so that when I look at my watch it has usually wandered a bit! This is really annoying - do you think it's 'cos I have the bracelet offset. The clasp seems to be right when the head is sitting central but they still drift! Anyone else have similar problems - am I deformed? ![]() |

![]() Do you really want an honest answer to that one BB??? ![]() ![]() No I think it's just a case that if you have your watches a little loose, then the weight of the head along with gravity will always move it a bit. The Breitling clasp is designed to be offset a little so if you've got that right then a slightly loose bracelet is all that woudl cause it. |
