RE: THE NEW 47MM GMT WILL BREITLING OFFER MORE DIAL CHOICES LIKE THE CHRONOMAT
MODELS FOR 2012. I'M HOPING FOR AN ALL BLACK DIAL WITH SILVER BATONS OR ROMAN NUMERS.
NEXT A RHODIUM DARK SILVER DIAL( NOT THE BREITLING SILVER WHICH WE ALL KNOW IS WHITE).
ANY INSIDE SECRET SPY INFORMATION FOR 2012 WOULD BE GREATLY APPRCEIATED! THANKS!

The GMT is only available with batons, as Romans will complicate further an already "busy" face.

As for colors available, you can chose between onyx black, blackeye blue, blackeye gray, metallica brown, metallica blue and, yes, sierra silver.

PS What's with the caps?

All of these details are shown on the Breitling website, and recently even has pricing. I'm curious as to the thickness (reported in another thread as 18mm) as this weighs more than the SA (18.6mm).

I just picked up the 2012 Chronolog from an AD today along with full pricelist. The specification listed in the book for the Chronomat GMT has the thickness at 18.35 mm and weight at 157.85 g. (SA at 18.5mm and153.3g). Hope this helps.

Thanks, I never even noticed this watch until the recent postings about it - I have the book and will have to check it out when I get back home. I've been so close to pulling the trigger on a SA as I liked the size of the SA but it was always too simple of a watch for me so I think I will have to track down a Chronomat GMT in person and check it out.

I checked my copy and do see the 18.35mm thickness (wasn't doubting you, was more doubting myself for not having noticed such a big size watch the first tiem I flipped through), so this should be pretty close in size to the SA. I am curious why the Breitling website doesn't list this, particularly as they just recently updated the info on the site. Now I'll have to find one locally to check out in person.

With all new models, Breitling has stopped posting thickness measurements. In some ways that's too bad, although given the uncertainty of how they took their measurements (some say Breitling doesn't factor in the caseback, while others maintain they do), maybe it's just as well. Those measurements could be misleading.

That's not true as it just seems to be hit and miss recently (e.g. the Navitimer 1461 is newer and the thickness is listed on the website).

You're right. A number of new models now have thickness measurements included in their technical data, while others still don't. I could swear none of them did just a little while ago. Perhaps Breitling is updating their stats. Either that, or my memory is off.

I see them as just being lazy - if it's in the book/Chronolog then the information is available so should be on the website as well.

It's not anything new that Breitling's website isn't up to date with all the current information.

I went and saw this in person today and was disappointed as it looks comparable in size to the SA on paper but the SA looks 2-3mm both wider and thicker in person.
