OK, probably a silly question, but I was curious. Hoping to purchase a Galactic 41 next month, and it has this unique double window for the date. i assume the window is simply decorative and that the watch/date function works just like any other watch, right? it doesn't have some sort of wierd set up where the tens place and ones place are set seperately right? Does anyone have one? I think is kind of a unique Breitling design and was looking at a black face and black leather strap....maybe even the two-tone too.

Thanks!

There are two date wheels, one inside the other. Therefore unless the date is changing to 1st / 10th / 20th / 30th the tens wheel does not move.

Interesting....but when I would change the date myself, such as during resetting, do I do it exactly the same way....by simply turning the stem? I wouldn't personally change the tens and ones seperately right, the watch does that automatically for me....so to speak?

You change the date in the same way.

Couldn't ask for a speedier reply, thanks. I assume many others have noticed that once you get a Breitling is seems very difficult not to purchase additional ones. They seem slightly addictive.

You've just described the "big date" complication (in terms of how the date advances, not in terms of how you set it, as Roff explained). Any watch with a big date functions this way, which is what makes it a complication, rather than just a larger standard date. It is also why some fakes with big date features end up showing bizarre dates like 32, since the things are so shoddily made, they don't reset properly after 31.
