I am going to buy a Blackbird over the next few days, and find myself in the lucky position of having the choice of polished or brushed. As I like the look of both, I was wondering whether there is any benefits to either? Is one rarer than the other, or one less likely to get marked? Any opinions gratefully received. |

Brushed for me. I prefer the matte finish over the polished on this model. I'm not sure if either is more or less rare. I chose the brushed with black dial. If I were looking at the BEB perhaps I would prefer the polished. Either way, you cannot go wrong with this watch. R/ |

Please pardon my ignorance, but is there an OEM brushed version of the Blackbird? Curious if this is an option for other models, as I too prefer a matte finish. |

Brushed Blackbird has been around longer than the polished one which was a relatively late introduction for the model. I guess that technically there are more brushed ones because it has been available for a longer period, it will also show marks less than a polished finish. Brushed for me, it's one of the things that sets the BB apart. |

The BB is best served with the brushed finish IMO. As exceptional as it is, I would, personally, less use it with a black tie. Not that it is not suited for the job but other candidates correspond better. |

BB stands both for Blackbird and Black/Brushed. Nuff said. |

They're both outstanding, I own the polished version and I got rid of the bracelet because it was waaaayyyyyyy too shiny, but it looks killer on a black croco or a brown calf. You can't go wrong with either one, I personally prefer straps and I think the polished version looks better on straps than the brushed, but that's just my opinion. ![]() ![]() |

That is a tough one....I will say the brushed finish for a black dial and a polished for the BEB model. However, like Roam said the polished can work a bit easier with a strap for those who dont want the whole flash thing. Good options to have |

I went with brushed on the BEB version... while some are stuck on the name and dial color, I purchased the blue dial as an association of the aircraft to the branch of service and AFSC's (mine included). Now that its been discontinued, I'm certainly glad I did! ![]() ![]() |
