I'm looking to trade in my Breitling Aerospace for something a little different. I received it as a Bar Mitzvah gift and being the young, irresponsible, and extremely fortunate teenager I was, I managed to lose the papers. From what I understand Breitlings are notorious for being faked. Am I screwed? Can I still sell this or trade it in without papers? Thanks |

whoever gave you the gift ask them where they bought it and see if that place can get you the original papers etc from breitling usa. good luck |

Ok, thanks, I'll try to go that route. Here are some photos: Not the best quality but hopefully good enough. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Can't see the photos 'cos I'm at work - however the Aerospace is one of the Breitling range which is targeted less by the fakers and when it is reproduced it is always easy to spot. So - and when I see the photos it will be easy to tell - you will have less problem selling it (if genuine) without papers than you would most other models. Have a look at this thread for more info: http://breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3287 That said - the advice given is solid and a visit to any AD would verify it as genuine and probably supply a written statement to that effect - maybe for a nominal charge. Beware of ADs who may say it's fake and offer to dump it for you. Don't part with it without being 100% sure. I'll look at the pics later too. |

If the buyer knows what he's buying, he will know that your Aerospace is REAL. Although absence of papers will decrease its value. |

![]() No doubt whatsoever that it's real. |

Okay, thanks everyone! I might stop by an AD and try to get some papers. What do you think I'm looking at on ebay? I was thinking about starting it at 800 but I really have no idea what the resale of this watch will fetch. Thanks |

Yup - as the guys say ![]() As bnewbie says - any genuine buyer will know it's real but lack of warranty booklet & COSC cert will drop the resale value a bit as it's not complete. Manuals come up on eBay from time to time - £20 ish.e. the other things to make it more complete are a hang tag, document holder, distributors list, bezel guard. Not sure how helpful Breitling would be about replacing paperwork etc but a phone call won't hurt - they're very helpful with genuine owners. As far as the starting price the best bet is to do a bit of research on completed listings. In my opinion it's better to start at 99p without a reserve and hold your breath! Takes a bit of courage but that's how I do my eBay auctions - so far so good! |

I like it. If you Ebay it, post the link. I may be interested. Conversely, if you prefer to sell through the forum, shoot me a PM. |

I agree with the others - it's real and if you're selling it an enthousiast nuyer will see that. |

Its definately real.. but you probably knew that. Like others have said.. the right buyer will know that its real. For a superquartz aerospace you should get more than $800, however, and this is a big one.. your pics look like it is in pretty banged up shape, tho the crystal looks clean... which means that you can expect it to bring in less.. I would say in very good condition your watch should bring in around $1200-1300... but in what appears to be rough shape and lack of papers, its hard to say. I personally think its better to just post an ad up somewhere that doesn't charge you money and to use ebay as a last resort. |

I found the papers but have a sale pending at $1,050. Worth bumping up the price? |

Even with papers, $1050 is a pretty good price for it, as it's pretty banged up. One in near mint condition would probably bring $1200+ however. |
