Just saw this on another forum. These pieces will only be sold at the boutique in NYC. Good cause. Too bad guys like me won't be able to get one. :( Nice watch though. :lingsrock:

"In tribute to military veterans across the United States, Breitling has created a 50-piece limited edition American Tribute Watch. Each piece is individually numbered and features a commemorative etching on the back of the watch face, honoring American Veterans with the statement "Breitling for America. United We Stand." Breitling is donating 100 percent of the proceeds from this watch to the Fisher House Foundation, which constructs comfort homes to provide free, temporary housing to the families and service members needing medical care across the country."

This is quite a piece! I'm not a B01 fan, but the representation to the colors of the Stars & Stripes, along with the caseback is very classy, IMO.

I'm not normally a fan of these types of LE as they are usually very OTT - like that stars and stripes Hublot be saw recently. However, this one is very subtly done with just the caseback engraved - and a nice engraving it is too. One things that's odd though is that they've used a white date wheel whereas all other black dial versions use a black wheel.

I like it, but the cynic in me also wonders why it looks exactly the same as original Chronomat B01 LE - could it be that the B01 LE didn't sell too well and so a few brushed cases/bracelets plus the LE dial and handset are being resused? Hmmm.....

That's why I mentioned the nod to the US flag... I guess the white datewheel completes the red, white & blue theme.
Although I do genuinely believe that it's a heartfelt gesture by BUSA to pay tribute to the US military. Not just a stock clearing exercise, otherwise there'd be more made? I also think the choice of NYC being the sales outlet is befitting, being the focal point for national pride etc.

If there was ever a British version, what would the crest/seal be? and what about the motto? Would it be Latin??? or even in Arabic? lol, just joking about the state of our immigration 'service' at the moment

Back to the B01 tribute watch: What if BUSA made it from the outgoing B13 Chronomats, or a model from the Professional series? Surely these would be snapped up quickly?

Is it a blue dial?? I thought it was black and the blue tinge in the pictures was just the AR coating. Maybe my PC's colours are off a little.....

Saw it in the flesh. The dial is blue, but on the darker navy spectrum. Thanks, J.N. for inviting this old vet and the espresso. It made my day.

A bit political, though, isn't it; only being sold in NYC is probably a good idea; can't see many sales happening in Baghdad or Viet Nam can you?!

I think it says a lot about our political leaders that charitable organisations have to provide care for veterans who served their country; risked their lives etc, rather than having this care provided by the Government. If an organisation like Fisher House didn't exist where would the veterans go?

Going by what happens in our country the treatment our soldiers get in supporting them after they served in some war or another (plenty going on at the moment, our leaders like that sort of thing evidently) is pretty poor to be honest.
