Post subject: | Question about limited edition B'ling |
Ok, I was down in LA this past weekend on a mini-vacation, so I stopped by Feldmar's as usual to check out the goods. They showed me a watch, Chrono Avenger style (traded in by someone), I was told it's a limited edition, it has an American flag just above the 7 & 6, the flag is colored red, white and blue. The numbers are the size you would find of the C/A. The watch has the regular pushers on the right side, but the kicker is, it has an extra (forgive me for not having the proper terminology), split second hand, (like the TOPGUN watch IWC has), this second hand is controlled by pressing the top part of the center winder. Very unique watch, was told the only made a handfull, I was unable to get a price out of them. I'm just throwing it out there for anyone that might be interested, or if anyone can shed some light on this model. Overall, they have a great selection. Tried on the U-Boat flight deck, 50mm...verynice....I found my next objective...any feed back on U-boat would be great. Again, I hope I explained this ok to your standards. |

We have standards ? Who knew ![]() Normally a second chronograph seconds would be a rattrapante - the ability to time splits without stopping the chronograph. I'm a bit at a loss on what this one might be. There have been a few Breitling rattrapantes (though not as many as some of us would like) including a couple of Display back Chrono Avengers (one automatic, one mecha-quartz). The US flag is throwing me though - I'm not aware of any rattrapantes that could be customised with logos. Anyone else???? |

Hmmmm, I'm with you on this one Roff. The only LE split-second / rattrapante models I can think of are the Chrono Avenger 69 (with the Breitling 69 mecha-quartz hybrid movement, and limited to 600) and the Chrono Avenger Rattrapante (full automatic, and limited to 25) that you've already mentioned. And as you also rightly said they did not have an American flag on them, nor would I expect the option of dial customisation on that model. There was a range of standard rattrapante models a few years ago (that also used Breitling 69 movement) but they were part of the Windrider range, so wouldn't look like a CA, and again I'm pretty sure there's no option of dial customisation. This piece sounds very odd.... and something I'd definitely like to see! |

Sounds interesting. I too have tried on the U-Boat 50mm Flightdeck. I really like the piece. My only problem is the leather strap. I'm a bracelet guy. I think the workmanship is awesome on U-Boat pieces. Very cool timepiece, and the various sizes is a definite plus! ~Brian |

I realize this is an old thread, but I had to bring it back to life. I have seen the watch in discussion and still don't know what model or reference no. it was. I do know the fellow that owns it and I will find out to report back here. It had a blue dial, stainless case, gold bezel, and sported a mecha-quartz movement along with the US flag between the 6 & 7. I do know that it is a special edition and likely extremely rare. |
