Been a while since i bought my last Breitling (also first 1 btw:) so there's an iitch growing

Last few weeks the words superocean and heritage chrono keep popping up in my mind... i think it's a real cool watch and it's waterproof too . Swimming or taking a shower with my navitimer on would be a big mistake i guess. I expect better results from a superocean. model 46 A1332024.B908-SS would do the trick for me... great watch (big too btw)!

i've been strawling the net for some time now trying to find a retailer that sells genuine watches for the lowest price (we don't want to pay too much do we...). What worries me however is that you come across so many fake watches that i from my part wouldn't recognize as being fake. They look so genuine from the pictures, it's unbelievable.

So how do we make sure we buy an honest one for the right price.... any idea's?

If you buy online then you are either going to be getting a resale piece or a grey market piece. Resale is obviously the best price, but the watch won't be new. Grey market is a mug's game in my opinion - no factory warranty, no guarantee that the watch is brand new and pricing that is little to no better than you could do from a BreitlingSource sponsor AD (Govbergs or Provident in the US, Andrew Michaels or Banks Lyon in the UK).

If you are going to buy resale then get photos of the watch and post them in the replica section and members will tell you if it's real or not.

I used to think it was the smart way to save money - and one time I did. I did also get the full Breitling warranty, paperwork and serial no, and very happy with it I remain. However my last buying experience (this year for a TO LE Chrono) was simply awful - a string of broken promises on delivery dates, b******t from the sales guy - just a lousy 5 month wait for nothing. I threw in the towel and got my deposit back. This is a high-profile UK-based company with a big website.

So I now fully endorse the wise advise to go to a recommended AD such as Andrew Michaels in the UK. If I ever am in the market for a new Breitling (which is not looking at all likely given recent price hikes - the damn thing is grossly overpriced now) I shall definitely go to an AD. Just my 2p based on my personal experience.
