Post subject: | New SA -- Need Watch Winder Help / Advice |
I am both new to the site and the Breitling family. I recently purchased a SA (black face) which is an amazing watch, but have one question I was hoping someone in the group could help me out with. Here is the situation. When I purchased the watch from my AD, I also purchased a Wolf watch winder, which was very nice, but was not able to hold the weight of the face of the watch. No matter how much I tried to fit the watch in snuggly, it kept falling forward, hitting the inside glass of the case. I of course thought this was user error, so I went to my AD for assistance. Ironically, they were surprised as well and had the same results as I did. So, given everyone’s vast experience and knowledge on the site, I thought I would throw this out to the group. Primarily, I am hoping someone could recommend a winder (reasonably priced) that would serve the SA’s needs. If you have a recommendation, please include information on where to purchase the winder if you happen to have that readily available. Thanks again for all the help!!! ![]() |

I have a Skyland, not as big as your SA but still pretty good sized, and it sits fine in this Steinhausen dual winder http://www.gadgetuniverse.com/gadget/product_detail.asp?SKU=TM%20544%20A&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=TM%20544%20A I think I paid less than this, they are on the bay and other places, this was just the first place I found a pic. Might be cheap, but I'm willing to use it till it burns up at this price. |

hey FB, I use a module 1.5 wolf winder. It's a tight fit, and I always slip a cleaning cloth over the bracelet before I set it in the winder. It's worked perfectly for me for over a year now.................Good Luck to you.... |

Lots of users here have had good results with the Garinin like Chance.. they are very reliable winders for the money. I prefer a wood finish to my winders to go with my furniture and also prefer the soft pillows for mounting my watches so I go with the Orbita Sparta Deluxes just like Pedro. I have 3 of them. I also have a Rapport dual winder which is good, but not as reliable as the Spartas which last forever on 2 batteries. |

Yes, eBay. The model I've got is very similar in design to Rapport boxes and just as well made IMHO, but much cheaper and so far much more reliable too. (I had a Rapport box a few years ago that was nicely finished, but it became very noisy and then stopped working after quite a short space of time, so it had to go back for a warranty repair). I also like my Official Time box as it's not your typical walnut/mahogany look. |
