and I'm about to pull all of it out trying to decide on the right watch. I keep going back and forth on these watches. I had all but eliminated the djii and had decided to go with the Pam, but each time I see one or read about it, the thought of having one creeps back into my head...Now I'm back to the super avenger as it was the one I was originally drawn to...

For reference, this information may be helpful to you...

My lifestyle-
Daytime = lawyer = suits (no business casual)
Evenings = dinner out, movies, hanging with friends, and of course wife and kids (4 and 17) = polo shirts, dress shirts with sleeves rolled up, or casual t-shirt, jeans/slacks/shorts
Weekends = anything goes (range from suits to casual t-shirts, jeans, slacks, shorts)
Vacations 4x year = Hawaii to Carib to Europe, etc.

Please help out here; which would you choose and why??

I can only get one so please don't recommend getting more than one.... Thanks!!

Between the three choices I would say the Panerai would fit the bill best with the strap interchangeability

There were posts similar in the past, where Rolex = $$$$, which depending on the type of lawyer you are, you may not want to convey that.

That super avenger is the old style FYI. New ones will have the better stencil numbers or sticks. I'm a super avenger guy myself. The panerai is nice but in the summer or hot climates the leather sucks. Need a bracelet. The roles djII is nice but to small. Get the dssd if you want a rolex. Perfect for all those scenarios Good luck!

Of those 3, I'd go with the Rolex. The 359 would be my second choice.

Got to go Panny of those choices and your lifestyle. A different model of Rolex would work as well.

of those 3 i would go DJ 2. the other 2 pieces are awesome especially the 359 but they are both SUPER thick. so wearing them with a suit might be difficult. although i know FEAR rocks his SA with a dress shirt, but the guy has Gorilla wrists 9 inch wrist is no joke. for the average guy it might be too thick to fit under your dress shirt.

I'm gonna vote PAM. To me it's the most versatile if the three, there are about a billion strap options and it's suitable as either a dress watch it a casual watch.

All that being said if I were looking for just one watch I'd get a Rolex GMT IIC or a SubC depending on whether I wanted that extra time zone.

I do like the PAM, but the leather strap is not great for hot climates. Given you're looking for a single all around watch, I would go for something on a bracelet. Unless you're a big guy, I personally think the SA is too large and flashy of a watch to wear with a suit every day. Have you considered a Chronomat instead? The Rolex would be an alright choice (even though I'm not a Rolex fan), but I don't personally care for the DateJust. I think the Sub looks classier.

This is a tough choice . . . I don't envy your position.

PAM for me as well - which is quite a statement coming from me, then Rolex, but not that one, and then the SA. Really thinking that the SA is starting to become a cliche - a lot of them out there and as the trend slowly moves to slightly smaller I think that the Avenger has everything that the SA has but in a more reasonable size.

The Panerai by a million miles.

I'm sorry but that particular DJ is just horrible IMO. In fact, I find all DJ models a little bit too "old man" for my taste.

The SA will have (I suspect) a limited appeal and even though I personally like large watches, I can't help but think it will become something of an anachronism in a few years. I'm going to sell my own SA fairly soon as I've gone off the sheer dimensions of it.

The Panerai is simply the better, more attractive and more versatile watch IMO.

Of those, I would go with the Panerai. I think the Rolex would look much better with baton markers than the numerals.
