I recently bought a Navitimer 01 LTD

Today I called my insurance company to add it on to my policy as it seems fairly standard in the UK that any items worth over £1500 have to be itemised.
First they asked if it needed to be insured while away from home which sort of goes without saying.
I was told they could not cover it and they would need to call around different companies that may take it on.
This would mean starting a new 12 month policy which I dont want to do as I had planned to leave the company at the end of this policy term.
I am sure there are many specialist watch or jewellery insurers but just wondered if anyone else had the same issue getting cover under their contents policies.

I am with axa and they can cover any number items up to any amount, but it's cheaper as if you set the limit to 8k you can have any number of items each worth not more than 8k not a total of all the amounts.

Try Hiscox, they are very straight forward.

Direct Line also have quite a high unitemised single item limit on their top tier insurance policy

My Breitling and my Omega is covered under the home insurance by AXA.
As long as it doesn't exceed £7k, you don't have to get it itemised.
Includes cover away from home and 30 days abroad.

I did think to go with Jewellery specialists like TH March and Hiscox, but it worked out cheaper insuring under home contents.

I used to be with Bank of Scotland and had no issue covering any of mine for both home and away.

LV gave me a better deal at renewal and again cover for home and away too.

Makes my maximum single item value of £1500 seem a bit rubbish.
Not had chance to check any of these out yet but will be doing this weekend

Thank everyone
