Post subject:  Looking for a Used Breitling Navitimer...Where to Begin?!

Hi,
I'm new on this forum and hoping to find some guidance/help!

I'm looking to buy my fiance a used Breitling Navitimer for his 30th Birthday.
Where do I begin to find an authentic one & what's a reasonable price?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you :)

Hi, welcome aboard.

To find a genuine watch (especially if you are new to it) you will be best advised to go to an AD. As you are in Canada you will probably be able to negotiate 15 to 20% off the RRP. (Here in the UK we have to make do with much less! )

The second option is to go to either a reputable 2nd hand jewellers although you may not have the model you require. Some AD's may also have 2nd hand stock at times.

A third option is to try a reputable online seller such as www.interwatches.com, www.prestigetime.com or www.jomashop.com. All these sell genuine goods and are priced pretty well.

Lastly (and not advisable for the novice) is eBay. You may get a bargain, but you may also get ripped off if you are not 100% certain about what you are looking at.

Hope this helps.

You may want to try the bay or sites like prestigetime.com, authenticwatches.com. They both have good prices and were deemed authentic by other members here on the forum. Good luck!

I wouldn't recommend eBay..... I am risk averse.

+1 Driver.

You'll find the best discounts online, but if a service issue comes along you'll have to send it back to the seller to get the warranty to cover the piece. Kindof a pain, but if you're saving several hundred or a thousand bucks, it's well worth it.

See feedback section for members that have purchased online.

Good luck!

That sounds like a truly great gift! I would strongly go with the given advice and stay with an AD or a well known online dealer. It is a bit more expensive, but then you are sure of what you get. Better safe than sorry... Good luck!

Yes, actually quite a few of the larger AD's have a preowned section, from people who have used their first piece as a trade-in.
