This was just posted on TZ by a usually very reliable source on Breitling announcements |

I'd be interested as long as it has a long power reserve of a week or so. My Maurice LaCroix hand wound is always dying because I forget to wind it every other day and don't wear it often. |

It seems odd that the next in-house movement would be manual. It makes more sense for them to develop a three-hand automatic first - cover all the major bases of automatics - then turn to a manual eventually for some sort of special edition. But then, I've long ago given up trying to second-guess Breitiling. If they thought like I do, we'd be back in 2002. |

I'm betting (if it's a true rumour of course) that it'll basically be a B01 without the automatic winding mechanism. I'm pretty sure the B01 is designed to be a platform for a range of future movements, so don't expect any ground-breaking changes from that model. I also agree with other comments here that a manual wind at this point is a slightly odd move. I'd have thought that a 3 hand non-chrono auto would've been the next logical step. Well, let's just see what it goes in before making too many judgements. |

Manual wind would have made much more sense with a twin barrel and hence longer power reserve, but the chrono pretty much eliminates that possibility. Have to think that this is never going to be more than a niche product, very odd. |

It might allow them to make some thinner watches. I think given the price of the current ETA three hand models, an in house three hand would have to be absurdly priced. |

Breitling has been very good at doing things that make zero sense as of late, so I wouldn't be surprised if they kept the streak going with a manual wind offering. |

I just pre-ordered a Navitimer Cosmonaute AB021012 with the caliber 02 movement. Manual as rumored with 70 hours power reserve. They'll only release 1962 of them (50 years since Scot Carpenter's Aurora mission in 1962) |

Looks like Driver8's bet may be right. |

If/when this creation fails, Breitling can next perfect watches that are charged by nuclear radiation & comet dust particles. |
