All,
Inspired by Tom, I thought I would float an idea. I would like to know if there are any who'd be in Manhattan in December of this year who might like to get together for dinner and drinks during the "holidays". We could even swing by the Boutique on 57th to gaze at the available Breitling's (I'll chat w/ the manager..... :D ).

Seeing as it is New York City (specifically, mid-town Manhattan) during the holiday season, the sooner any reservations are made, the better. I had thought we could possibly eat @ Ben Bensons (steak/American), and have drinks elsewhere (the revived Rum House on 47th comes to mind, or the older King Cole @ The Saint Regis is servicable....I am open to other ideas as well.)

For those of you who aren't familiar with johnnyboomboombuck (jbbb), he may not post much but he is the perfect person to organise this. He has a lot of senior level Breitling connections and a collection that is virtually unrivalled. I suspect that he would also have some very interesting life stories if only he were allowed to share them!

Wish I was going to be closer to NY for the holidays.

Me too depending on date. I could always schedule a meeting in the city for the same day. I am not available the first week of December though 2nd-9th.

Possible dates would be (thinking weekends, as most of us have responsibilities during the week):
Friday, 9 December or Saturday, 10 December.
Or;
Friday, 16 December or Saturday, 17 December.

Sitting for dinner in Manhattan could be as early as 5 or 6 pm (the theatre crowd generally takes up a lot of these times for obvious reasons), or as late as 9 or even 10 pm. Personally, later could be more interesting. However, as I age, old wounds don't hold up to the aches and pains as they did before and I can understand how some of the older turks would prefer not running with the young bucks. Of course, that is why fine spirits are sold! (Dr. Bombay, indeed!)

Keep in mind, folks, this does not need to be a large group. A small party can be just as enjoyable!
Pete and Czar, I have you on the virtual "list", as it were.

BTW, thank you for the kind words, Prof. I am not nearly half as interesting as I convince myself to be.
