Hello....first time poster. I'm looking to purchase my first high end watch and have likely settled on an amazing Blackbird with a blue face and a brushed metal bracelet. It is spectacular. However, I have no idea if it is priced ok. The watch is priced at $5,980 and the bracelet at $1,400. The dealer said the model is no longer in production....I believe he said it is last year's model.

How do those prices sound to you?

They sound like list price.

Discount will depend on which part of the world you are in, but in the US you should be able to get 20%+

Assuming you're talking USD, the quoted price beats retail by $105, which isn't too good. A 20% discount is pretty standard, meaning you should be able to get the whole watch (bracelet included) for just under $6k. If the AD is trying to sell you just the watch head for that price, I wouldn't go for it. Yes, the watch has been discontinued, but stock is stock. It's not like it's some super-rare limited edition. If anything, selling the watch for 80% of the current retail price leaves him in pretty good shape, since he likely bought it prior to the last couple rounds of increases.
