I did not see a seperate forum for stolen watches- has anyone ever considered starting one? AFAIK this is the biggest Breitling community, I'd be so ecstatic if my watch ended up in a proper collector's hands, who might actually be willing to help catch the crook.

I've checked with some local pawns shops, even going as far as going to the 'good' side of town to have some frank discussions with some pawn guys. They all assured me that the fear of being shut down for hocking a known stolen item generally outweighs greed- and that most places probably aren't going to take an uncommon Breitling watch with no papers from some random kid for this reason.

Anyway, in a horribly coincidental series of events that will likely have fraud investigators on my ass, should I try to claim it: I am an avid player of disc golf (it's just like what it sounds, google PDGA if you think I'm kidding here), and on Friday, I removed my watch (actually my late father's) and stored it in my glove box to play a round at a local park. Unfortunately, being a mechanic by trade and not being a typical watch-wearer, I forgot all about it and it got left in the car overnight.

Apparently, that day, my driver's door decided not to lock. I found all the others locked (they unlock after parking the car), so I know I at least ATTEMPTED to lock the car. Suspecting an issue with the lock actuator on that door. Also, some little pu**y piece of garbage was apparently out roaming that night, checking car doors.

So my watch is gone. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone is willing to offer. If you have advice to share, that's awesome. If not, all I can ask is that everyone keep an eye out. I will get pictures of the watch up in a minute.

Thanks all.

That's a beautiful J-Class Chrono. I'm sorry you've lost it, and I sincerely hope you get it back.
