What steps do I need to take so send my watch in myself to breitling?

i have never sent in a watch to breitling for service myself. but i would assume that you need to mail it to their service center insured just in case anything happens. I would suggest Fedex over night and not to do it on a friday.

just curious why dont you want to get your AD to send it in on your behalf?

Honestly, I have dealt with the AD in the past on other jewelry items, didn't care for the service. Also something tells me you would just overall pay more.... Am I wrong? How does that work? Do they charge me more than breitling would? Do I pay when I pick up?

The easiest thing to do is to contact your country's Breitling Service Centre directly and ask them the procedure. Contact details are on the Breitling website.

I personally always go direct to BUK as I don't trust many AD's to be as careful with my watches as I am. In the UK it's dead easy - I just package up the watch in a service/travel case (not the original bakelite box) and a ton of bubble-wrap, along with the warranty card (if it's a warranty job) and a covering letter detailing exactly what I want done. BUK then provide an estimate and I given them the go-ahead (or not as the case may be). Once the work's done, they send an invoice which usually I pay by card over the phone, and then they send the watch back. Simple. The only concern I ever have is getting adequate insurance when sending the watch through the post, but apart from that it's easy.

As I say, this is what I do with BUK, but I suggest you find out the procedure in yoru country direct from Breitling as it may differ slightly.

Would it be ok to send the watchhead only?
Makes for easier packing and without the bracelet, scratches are less likely to happen.

Sure, but if it's a full service that includes case and bracelet refinishing.

Not the BIG question. Is my AD going to charge me some type of premium for them sending it? Also do they cover shipping?

AD will likely charge you shipping, but you would pay that anyway if you sent it yourself.

Some dealers will ship it in for free (more likely if you bought it from them), but expect to pay. The last AD charged me $25 or something like that. The actual service cost should be the same regardless of who sends it in. Normally id say the AD is an easy way to do it, but since it sounds like you dont like yours, its probably just best to avoid them altogether.
